Perfect place to feel the Antwerp vibe!

The location is perfect. The host is super caring and quick to respond. The building and inside are old and full of soul and character. It was warm inside and really well set up for a stay.

Those stairs are scary. But it was expected, and it happened when you want a historical place to stay in. Also, the floor creaks, and movements around the house make a lot of noise, but again, it was expected.

A beautiful, authentic 400 year old workers townhouse in what has become a highly desirable neighborhood with quaint str

The rickety yet roomy 400 year townhouse in a very pleasant location.

Some important facilities were not well maintained and simple enhancements could go a long way to substantially uplift one’s experience. Clearer, more honest, upfront communication about the lack of noise-dampening from neighbors’ homes and the street would also help a lot.

Old but cozy (group) accommodation

Great for a family or friend group with the kitchen, dining room, and living room, if you don't mind sharing the double beds. The accommodation, including kitchen and bathroom was clean and the kitchen had enough equipment. Having two toilets was also practical.

The house is quite old, the thin floors let sound through clearly and a conversation with the person in the room above/below was possible. (decide whether that is positive or negative yourself). The stairs are also steep, which might be a problem for some. While the house was mostly clean, those of us with dust mite allergies noticed irritation from corners of the rooms.

Very nice stay in a characteristic house

Very nice location, historical centre near and nice restaurants. We were with 6 people and the house has good space to have separate rooms/spaces for everybody. Bathroom is big, kitchen has everything you need. Hosts respond quickly and are very friendly.

It is a very old house, so very noisy (take ear plugs of you wake up easily) when other people would walk around. The stairs are very narrow, so you have to be careful. It's an old house, so it has a lot of character, so if that's your taste you'll probably like it.

Very good

Perfect location. If you're ok on steep and windy 16th century stairs it's a very comfortable and charming and unusual house in one of the nicest bits of central Antwerp. We were 5 people and also used the double bed at the top of the house. It's a good bed, but a tight fit around it. No problem for us, but don't expect a spacious bedroom up there. The main bedroom, with a double and single, is lovely though. Sitting and dining room also very enjoyable. If you want something more interesting than a hotel, this is a good choice.

Lovely house, clean and comfortable

We really liked this house, comfortable and very clean, with interesting history. There is plenty of space, including a large bathroom with a tub bath that we much appreciated. The stairs are steep, but we are in our mid-70s and we were fine with them. It is in a quiet street with no through traffic, and near lovely restaurants. The hosts were very helpful.

We knew this property had “narrow stairs” but not HOW narrow, winding, and many there were! By the end of our 8 night stay we were negotiating them safely, but at age 72 the two of us would probably not have chosen this property if we had known in advance how careful we would have to be, both ascending and descending. There are five floors and between two of them, the “stairs” are like a ship’s ladder where you have to descend backwards. Having said that, the property was clean, charming and terrifically well-located for touring Antwerp’s historic center on foot. Although we never laid eyes on our host (nor did we speak with them directly), when we blew a fuse our first day and messaged through Booking.com, someone arrived very quickly to fix the problem. I would suggest that the hosts include a microwave oven and a toaster in the kitchen set-up, and repair the non-working burners on the cooktop. The kitchen does boast a dishwasher, which we did not need to use. I think this property would be great for younger folks — but because of the stairs, not for families with kids under about five years old.

Exceptional

It was the second time in Zuiderzin, and it was just as perfekt as our first stay here. The house is just as charming as on the pictures. Very good communication with Kathleen and Rob, and the location is perfekt if you want to live in a quiet neighbourhood close to cool shops, cafés and restaurants.

Good

Great location, beautiful and atmospheric house. Fantastic that they had a travel cot and a high chair for our son. Also loved the toys and games in the house. Very responsive owners.

Heating didn't work in the common spaces and dining room, and was very hot in the other rooms. Could have been a bit cleaner.

Super ligging. Goede uitvalsbasis voor een paar dagen Antwerpen. 10 min lopen vd grote Markt

De bedden waren écht aan vervanging toe. En het is extreem gehorig. Enkele houten vloeren bieden weinig geluidsinstallatie. Ik zou het afraden voor een gezin met kleine kinderen of voor mensen die slechter ter been zijn vanwege de smalle stijle trappen in het huisje.

Zeer gezellig huisje en super ligging voor bezoek aan stadscentrum en ochtendloopje in het groen op Linkeroever (via voetgangerstunnel)!

Accoustiek niet ideaal - als iemand ‘s nachts moet opstaan heeft iedereen het gehoord - maar kan moeilijk anders bij dergelijke historische woning. Trappen redelijk uitdagend…

Ein wunderschönes, charmantes, altes Haus mitten in Antwerpen mit einer sehr freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Gastgeberin. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, die Lage ist ruhig und dennoch sehr zentral. Die Betten waren bequem und auf alle unsere Fragen wurde immer schnell geantwortet. Vielen Dank für diesen schönen Aufenthalt!

Uns hat es nicht gestört, aber für manche Menschen könnten die steilen Treppen ein Problem sein. Da es ein schönes altes Haus ist knarzt es etwas. Für sehr geräuscheempfindliche Menschen könnte das schwierig sein. Uns hat es gar nicht gestört.

Sfeervol verblijf, superplek, gastvrij

De accomodatie is erg sfeervol, een klassiek pand waarbij oude elementen mooi gecombineerd zijn met moderne faciliteiten. De locatie is perfect, een rustig zijstraatje van een centrale winkelstraat.

Het matras op de bovenste verdieping lag niet echt lekker

Uniek gezellig huis op prachtige locatie!

Prachtige locatie in hele leuke en centrale buurt, gezellig uniek en klassiek huis met een heerlijk bad!

Gezien het een oud gebouw is kraken de vloeren, en als je veel spettert in de badkamer kan het zijn dat er wat water naar de verdieping eronder lekt. Ook kraakt het tweepersoonsbed op de tweede verdieping. Met alle stijle trapjes zou ik het huis afraden als je slecht ter been bent.

Authentisches Stadthaus in Top Lage in der Innenstadt.

Die Unterkunft besticht durch ihre top Lage in einem typischen Antwerpener Stadthaus. Die Betten sind bequem und sorgten für erholsame Nächte. An dem großen Tisch im EG haben wir gut mit 6 Personen Platz zum Essen und Spielen gefunden. Einzig die Küchenausstattung könnte besser sein – hier fehlt es an einigen Basics (Schälmesser und ordentliche Küchenmesser).
