The room was without a window, I mean you could see nothing in it, they refused to change the room when I asked

As a first timer in Almaty, it was a bad first day for me as I was given a room with extra dirty window. I need to open my window because they auto shut down the aircon for winter and its real hot inside the room.
I asked for a different room and they gave me a room with a window that cannot be opened so it's useless.
The guy on the reception told me that I cannot demand for a better room because I paid lower than their standard price which I did through Agoda so I was expecting for a decent room and it's not my problem if Agoda provided me a lower price. The hotel would like me to add extra $170 in exchange for a better room with clean window.

The Hotel is part of a shopping mall. The elevator opens to the next door shopping mall for the first 3 floors.
The aircon was not working and even a visit from maintenance, it did not work. Although we asked again, no one came back to fix it.
The "window" was fake. It had a painted view, I can only assume it's because it was actually the wall to the mall. There were no coffee or tea sachets and no water provided.
The pillows were below standard and lumpy.
I asked for a king and ended up with 2 singles.
Overall, a very average experience. I would look for a better hotel next time.

Spent 4 nights here. The highlight is definitely the location—Dostyk Plaza is right across the hotel, making it super easy to grab food and essentials while skipping the local traffic. The bed was very comfortable. On the downside, breakfast isn't included, and the boiling water kettle in my room was dirty. Great for convenience, but could use better quality control on cleanliness.
