Excellent place to stay close to the railway station

We had a lovely room with a balcony towards the inner yard. The hotel was clean and beautifully old fashioned, breakfast was good, the staff was great and very helpful. The sauna was very good for a hotel sauna! The pool area was lovely, especially the small hot pool with views to mountains. It was excellent that there was an opportunity to use that area also on the day we left, this allowed us to have one more hiking day and after that a moment to relax in sauna and take a shower before catching the evening train. The location was great for us, as it's close to the train station, bus stop, spa and a couple of restaurants that were open until late even in summer.

Nothing that the hotel could really help, but it is a big hotel hosting both independent travelers and big groups, so one needs to accept that restaurant/sauna-area can be crowded from time to time and not everyone is always doing great in taking other guests into account in their behavior.

Schöner Kurzaufenthalt im "Salzburger Hof"

Ein Hotel , das schon beim Betreten einen unvergleichlichen Charme und Flair versprüht. Saubere , geräumige Zimmer. Restaurant und Bar laden zum Verweilen ein. Und ein Frühstücksbuffet das keine Wünsche bezüglich Auswahl und Frische offen lässt. Und überall freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Wir werden ganz sicher wieder kommen.

Bei unserem Aufenthalt gab es nichts negatives.

Vacanza in montagna a Bad Gastein

Bellissimo albergo in un palazzo ottocentesco a due passi dalla stazione ferroviaria e dall'impianto di risalita Stubnerkogel. La camera è enorme, perfetta e pulitissima con un terrazzo molto spazioso e una vista panoramica impagabile sulle montagne circostanti. Ottime le piscine interne, la vasca idromassaggio vista montagna e la SPA. La colazione è molto fornita sia di dolce che di salato. Lo staff è molto gentile, disponibile e preparato. Il parcheggio è incluso nel soggiorno e c'è la possibilità di avere la Gastein card con molti sconti e vantaggi inclusi.

Tutto troppo perfetto. Non cambierei niente.

Hotel mit historischem Flair

Hotel der alten Schule mit sehr gutem Frühstück, erhabenem Ambiente und freundlichem Personal.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, spricht aber leider größtenteils kein Deutsch (in Österreich). Zumindest an der Rezeption sollte das dann schon der Fall sein (meiner Meinung nach). Der untere Hoteleingang ist als solcher kaum zu erkennen.

Reasonably priced, but a bit dated and targeting Swedish families.

We stayed as part of our honeymoon, as we had heard a lot of good things about the Salzburger Hof. The hotel had a classical and timeless style of decoration, and we were greeted with a lovely welcoming as we arrived. The hotel was clean, and our room had a wonderful view. It was also very reasonably priced.

Perhaps our expectations were set a bit too high, but we were sadly a bit disappointed with our stay, for several reasons listed below: - The hotel felt more like a family resort than a luxury hotel. As a couple we felt out of place, as we came to realize that most guests were Swedish families with young children who had apparently booked a group trip with the Swedish company that owns the hotel. There were a lot of kids running around in the restaurant, so it was not a very ”romantic” honeymoon stay. Sometimes it felt like we were staying at an All Inclusive resort in Greece or Turkey. The dinner was ”just OK”. - Rooms are a bit dated. Last renovation was in 2008, so carpets look a bit worn, as do the tiles in the bathroom etc. - Some members of the staff in the restaurant were very young and seemed to lack proper training, which was a bit unexpected for a hotel that classifies itself as ”De luxe”.

Mycket bra frukost och middag . Rummet var mycket fint med två balkonger och vidunderlig utsikt !!! Rent och fräscht och trevlig personal. Bra gratis parkering och nära lift och kommunikationer (tåg och buss)

När till vandrings leder, stor frukost bekväma rum var bered på att många svenskar finns här. Stort badrum med både dusch och badkar, bekväma sängar.

Inte trä golv vilket jag föredrar. Mitt rum hade balkongen åt fel riktigning så fick ingen utsikt.

Only one restaurant with only a fixed price 5 course menu with poor choices. No a la carte. Most other restaurants in town were closed. They did own Angelos which was an Italian Restaurant that was ok. However it was down a major hill at least 8 or 9 stories down from the lobby which made the walk back up the hill a nightmare. Room had no heat which was truly needed at night and the bed was just “fair”. No good reason to visit Bad Gastein in the summer except hiking. Other than that there is nothing to do. Maybe in ski season it is better.

Все было великолепно, номера чистые и уютные. Все есть, не изношено, сантехника без нареканий. Заставки и ужины просто супер! Даже днем есть перекус «after ski». Еда ресторанная и очень вкусная. Подача на 5+. Официанты на высоте! Ну 5+ смело ставлю и всем рекомендую!

The atmosphere was amazing, great location and superb breakfast and dinner. We really liked our stay. The staff was great. Definitely plan to come back as soon as possible!

The room was quite dusty (dust under the bed as well as on the beams) which triggered my allergies.

No air conditioning in the rooms made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep. Not even a fan and the fridge didn’t work, so couldn’t even have a cold drink. Wouldn’t go back.

I’d definitely recommend the hotel and eventually visit again. The service was excellent.

The food was exceptional, the dinner menu had multiple options - appropriate for any dietary constraint/choice. The staff was very friendly, always well informed and forthcoming. The location was great - perfect for hiking/skiing, very close to the Felsentherme, there are a supermarket and a pharmacy not too far away. The whole place was very clean and well maintained.

Overall everything was great. I personally had higher expectations of the pool/SPA area.

Unfortunately the hotel is a resort catering to groups of travelers. The spa didn’t completely open until 14.30. No Al a carte at restaurant, just a fixed five course buffe. No snacks available in the bar, just drinks. Tariff charge for late checkout. 25 € to checkout at 12.00.
