Clean and spacious rooms.

The room layout was very good for our familiar as it gave our teenage son a bit of privacy. Everything was clean and the choice at breakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Parts of the room seemed worn and outdated but it was still comfortable so nothing too terrible.

Very comfortable stay, perfect for people visiting the D-Day sites!

The room and hotel in general was very nice. The room was comfy and the attached restaurant was popular with the locals which is always a good sign. As for location, it is perfect for anyone wanting to visit D-Day sites. It's very close to St. Mere Eglise and Utah beach and about a half hour drive to Omaha beach, not to mention Carentan itself.

The only issue the group encountered was the drains in the shower/bath were very slow.

shower leaked, before I arrived at the hotel, I had called to speak about our arrival time. when I asked the lady who answered, ‘do you speak English?’ she just said ‘no’ and said put the phone down. This concerned us, but upon arrival they did speak English.

Conned, hotel took our money and said we’d cancelled the booking. Stay clear!

Arrived at the property to find it closed and no one around to let us in, tried calling no one picked up. contacted owner via booking.com who suggested we’d cancelled the booking. We absolutely did not and trying to seek alternative accommodation at 10pm with a family is not ideal.

Dishonest business. Stay away at all cost!

Beware!! Dishonest thieves! The reception made sure to double charge us for the room. After I pointed this out, I was told that this was a „clerical“ error and I would be reimbursed for the mistaken double booking. No such reimbursement ever took place. Purely dishonest business! Stay away at all cost!

How to upset your customers when they arrive.

We arrived and were told to go to a lesser quality hotel as they were overbooked. Even thought my booking was confirmed a month in advance. Not happy at all.

Great location to the train station and to the WW2 sites I wanted to visit. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The dinner was exceptional and breakfast was good. Room was clean, wifi signal was strong, and the TV was clear. The kettle and coffee were also a plus. The bed was comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay and recommend the Auberge Normande.

Poor facilities, poor customer service.

Good Location in Carentan

Would not recommend this hotel. We booked two ensuite double rooms as part of our cycle tour through booking.com, arrived to be told only booked 1 room had to prove otherwise and then were told we dont have two ensuite rooms. Put in a family room with a double and single bed, ceiling all cracked from leaks, the single room had no curtains, poor facilities not a nice hotel. On returning made a complaint to booking, hotel admitted responsibility, agreed compensation, over 2 months later still not paid it, refusing to answer any messages, had to raise dispute with my credit card company to get my money back!

Carentan location is good and town is interesting, I have staed in this hotel a number of times before but never again,

The receptionist at check-in was extremely rude. She asked me my name (which is not difficult) at least 4 times and eventually I had to write it down. It was the first name listed among a small number of reservations in her diary. AS a result of her rudeness, I did not eat in the hotel and will not stay there again.

Convenient location, close parking nearby across the street, comfortable bed.

Room was tight for space, reminded us of a garret. The toilet was right up against the wall. See photo in this review. WiFi did not work, even after repeated requests to the staff to get it working and their failed attempts, WiFi still did not work. This is quite disappointing especially for travelers who depend on Internet connections for communication such as WhatsApp, email etc.

Comfortable fun stay in an unusual hotel with a good restaurant on site.

A quirky hotel with lots of features to make the stay interesting! Our room was on the first floor up some steep steps to a compact bedroom! However the surprize was the bathroom which is on a open mezzanine. However the deep bath only had a hand shower and no curtain but scary standing up so close to the edge of the mezzanine edge.

Nous avons passé mon épouse et moi un bon réveillon de fin d'année. Le cadre est agréable et l'ambiance des serveurs et serveuses sont très sympathiques. Nous pensons choisir cette solution pour l'année prochaine. Des clients ravis.

Dommage que la machine pour le chocolat soit tombée en panne. Mais celle-ci a été vite réparée avec le sourire. Nous avions tous les choix pour bien déjeuner.

L'accueil, le personnel très chaleureux et attentif. Le restaurant avec un vrai chef digne d'un établissement étoilé . Menus du jour avec des produits frais et inventifs. La possibilité d'avoir une place de parking privé tout près de l'hôtel.

WiFi et TV pas de signal dans notre chambre mais indépendant de la volonté de l'hôtel car intervention de l'opérateur internet en cours pour passer à la fibre lors de notre séjour.
