Location views. Everything i could have needed.
Toilet seat unstable. Mattress a little lumpy.

Great location, about a 25 minutes drive to the 4 waterfalls trail which was the reason we had visited.
The hot tub was a great addition, expensive in comparison to how much the accommodation is but worth it after a long hike.
Cottage itself had everything that you need and a good size.
Would recommend if you're visiting Brecon Beacons.
The upstairs was quite cold even with the heating on but not a problem for us and we found it dark outside getting from the hot tub to the cottage so couldn't see the floor when it was heavy rain but no issues.

Charming Cottage well appointed, snug & nostalgic yet everything needed for the perfect getaway and base to explore an under appreciated part of the UK, Host Emma was exceptional with communication and making sure I knew everything relevant about the property and local ammenties. would love to come back if work and the availability of the cottage match up.

Property was clean, comfortable, facilities were great. Evening heating so I’d always come back to warmth.

The location was good for hiking and right next to a Tesco but very limited to nice places to eat in the area.
The host was nice and helpful in regards to recommendations.
Unfortunately there was a few things, the cottage was absolutely freezing even with the heating all of the way up. I think it was poor sealing in the property and the beds were quite uncomfortable.
For the quality of the property, it was expensive. There was no reply from the property until the day of the stay, to which they informed me the hot tub was extra and they insisted on cash. £60 for 2 nights and access only between 1600 & 22.00.

We hadn't been there before but the Satnav took us right there and it was easy to find. We only stayed one night but it was superb for our needs.
Such a friendly welcome on arrival. it was easy to arrange use of the hot tub as a last minute request and plenty of help and advice as needed.
Secure and safe. Parking is gated as well. We stayed in honey pot cottage. We had food delivered from just eat as we got there at 7.30pm. Delivery was so simple as the cottage is easy to find.
We didn't really use it but the cottage has a very well equipped kitchen.
A decent shower, plenty of towels, warm comfortable beds - one double and single bunk beds, heating, TV with sky access and in a great location for us. We were attending a funeral nearby.
The hot tub is located next to the property and was a lovely way to relax before the tough day ahead.
It's a lovely little cottage, perfect for a night. If I visit the area again I wouldn't hesitate to return.
It would have been nice to have a lamp in the sitting room rather than the main light but that's subjective and more so my personal taste.

Convenient and reasonably priced for what we wanted to do
The property could do with a couple of mirrors, the bedding & quilt upstairs could do with replacing, otherwise totally adequate

Cosy, good value for money - warm!
It would have been nice to have less harsh lighting in the sitting room

When driving to the property we accidentally took a wrong turn, went up a narrow mountain road & ended up in a ditch! Emma rang to ask if we were finding the way alright, so I told her what had happened! Less than 10 minutes later she & her husband turned up with towing gear & pulled us out of the ditch; we then followed them to the cottage! This was definitely way over & above their responsibilities & our expectations! We were exceedingly grateful!!
N.B. Our daughter used her satnav & drove straight to the cottage with no problem!

This cottage was a real home away from home for my week in Wales. Emma was a very attentive host from the moment I arrived and was quick to help when I thought the fridge wasn't working! Everything I required was within walking distance or a short drive away. The cottage was quick to warm up and very cosy when the evenings got a bit crisp, a handy fan heater was also available if required. Internet was a bit patchy and the TV was a bit old school but I didn't drive to Wales to watch the telly and go on the internet so it wasn't an issue. Well equipped kitchen, though I couldn't find a can opener or a pair of scissors, though I may have overlooked them!
Roadworks on the road up the hill were a pain and at one point I had to ditch the car and walk up, this is not a slight against the cottage but it was a minor annoyance during my stay.

I stayed in cottage 3. Very good communication with hosts. All sorted what I needed. Very quickly place wormed up. Quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately can't take hot tube, wasps lives there😜. All leaning, beds fresh and clear, kitchen has got all what needs. Hot shower. Thank You. Recommend
No access to hot tub😔, not enough sofa pillows, some soft blankets needs. TV could be changed matrix flashing stroboscopic, Small maintenances needs to not disturb each other😜

Definitely the comfy beds and the hot tub!
There wasn’t a washing machine that could be found even though the cottage book said it had one. It didn’t affect our stay. It’s a bit tired around the edges generally but does the job as a base for exploring.

The cottage smashed our expectations. Emma the host couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The chickens were so friendly and hilarious, stopping by to say hello (and see if there were any food scraps of course). Ask about the lamb burgers. You won't regret it.
Location was great to explore the Brecon Beacons.
Fantastic stay. We loved our time there.
Time went too fast. Would ha e loved to stay longer!

The owner was very helpful and even brought me some tea bags and milk
I thought the price included the use of the hot tub as that's what it did on booking.com but sadly we were not able to use the hot tub however it didn't.bother us much as the cottage was so lovely with a huge selection of films for the kids aswell as me very cosy homely feel to the cottage and we loved our stay and would definitely book again

Loved the location and the hot tub and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if in the area
With having bunk beds as well as a double bed in the bedroom makes it a bit awkward getting in and out of the double bed if your at the wall side

Cheap and cheerful
Bunk beds not very comfy. Hot tub option was expensive so opted out. No teas or coffees left in apartment, would be a nice touch.
Grass could have done with a mow outside the apartment.

Emma was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. The cleanliness was exceptional. The location was so quiet & peaceful. The kitchen was good enough for the job, with hob, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and oven. The heating was great and warmed up the cottage in no time.
despite being advertised in 2 locations on the booking.com website that this property came with a bath...IT HAD NO BATH.
There was an isolator switch in the bathroom just dangling from the ceiling. The mattress on the double bed was uncomfortable unlike the mattress on the bunk bed. Despite the kitchen having everything you'll need it was a mix of allsorts of crockery & cutlery eg it only had one steak knife.

Second time staying here while we visit family. Have 2 children - one very active- so the outside environment where he can see the animals and move around is great for him.
Hot tub not working bit this was no fault of owner. We were warned in advance and decided still to stay as it is so lovely.

Penybryn Cottages is a nice country apartment that suited us well as a base to visit south Wales. It is on the top of a hill, so expect a lot of clutching, first and second gear to get there by car, but the views are very nice once you are at the top.
The apartment we were assigned was spacious for three adults and two children. The children had the loft with two beds and there was a further mattress on the floor for another person. Downstairs there was a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed for the adults.
The living area was spacious with a kitchen, couches, TV and a collection of DVDs, albeit the TV and DVDs being ancient. They also had a complimentary selection of books.
Outside there was a very nice patio area with table, chairs and sunbeds. Unfortunately we couldn't use as it rained most of the time, but it would be quite nice for those rare spells of sunshine in the Wales summer.
The TV is ancient, so don't expect to cast Netflix from your phone. The remote control was hard to operate as the buttons barely responded, which along with some DVDs getting stuck due to their age, it was a bit frustrating. I don't think it would be too expensive to buy a decent second-hand relatively new TV where people can cast their Netflix or streaming onto the TV.
The toilet was the big let-down. The auto-switch lighting was the biggest concern, specially at night. Imagine having a shower and the lights going off after three or four minutes. Likewise, imagine being in the toilet for a number 2 and suddenly everything going dark. Unless you are trained in the art of using toilet paper blindfolded, you are in for a treat.
Also, the mirror in the bathroom was too high, so our children tried to use a chair but that is not safe. Finally, there was mould on the shower, which is frankly not acceptable as this is easily sorted with some basic cleaning. Having said that, the shower was good with a steady steam of hot water, just don't use it at night.
Also, be warned, the hot-tub is not free and requires an additional £150 charge. When I booked the apartment I actually thought it was included, as it features prominently in all the pics, but you really need to read the small print.

Perfect location and accommodation for our family get together for two nights quality family time whilst our son was over from New Zealand for a second year on the run. We were happy to be able to book the Beehive cottage again this year. Clean comfortable well equipped and the hot tub was a bonus for the evenings after a day exploring the castle in caerphilly on the first day and a walk up Fan y Big on the second day. The patio area is charming with flowerbeds sunbeds a K6 telephone box and hot tub. Hosts Debbie and Gerwyn are welcoming and friendly. Would definatley recommend this haven for a break to explore the brecon beacons and surrounding area.
nothing to dislike.
