Great cosy hotel in the middle of a charming medieval French city

Atmospheric hotel in Medieval Briançon

Atmospheric hotel in keeping with the medieval village in which it resides, we enjoyed our stay there. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is very good (we had dinner not breakfast), and the location is excellent. We had a spacious room with a daybed stacked with pillows for lounging (in addition to the double bed).

The bathroom was very small but that was to be expected in such an old building and it nevertheless had plenty of towels and a shelf for our toiletries.

New management is not up to the prior standards this hotel once enjoyed

I have been bringing my group of cyclists to this beautiful property for years. It has a fantastic location and is generally a charming property.

The hotel has recently come under new management and I'm sorry to say the service and accountability has fallen off significantly. First, I reserved a table for 9 for dinner for my group on arrival. The table was not prepared; additionally, after ordering our meals it took more than 90 minutes to be served. Secondly, the following morning we were to have breakfast at the property, No staff showed in the morning for more than 90 minutes after we scheduled breakfast. Never was even an apology made. And lastly, upon checking out we were significantly delayed and the accounting and accuracy of the bill at checkout had significant problems. I've always loved brining my groups to this hotel but will reconsider as new management does not posses the great hospitality that was previously provided.

Clean, comfortable, quiet room. The inn was a very short walk from the most amazing panoramic view. Dinner available on site, even for a vegan.

Limited breakfast offering for a vegan: bread, jam and fruit. It would have been nice if some alternative milk had been available so that I could have had some cereal.

Cozy old hotel in Briancon

A charming little hotel in the old town of Briancon. Not a big place, and with small cozy rooms, something that must be expected in these old buildings. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is free on the main parking lot outside the gates - do not try to drive inside the old town. You get a “free parking” note to put in the car window. Nice breakfast.

Nice surprise and much better than staying a modern hotel with easy access and parking

Full compliment of bread, croissants, jam, cheese, ham and boiled eggs. Old Briancon centre is a delight with boutique shops and a excellent free art museum in the centre. Well worth a visit.

Satnav took us to barrier at entrance to the old part of the town. We didn't notice sign saying to contact hotel for access number. Ended up squeezing through narrow streets to find hotel entrance which was not far from original barrier. Would be helpful if booking.com or hotel had messaged directions and access code.

OK hotel in Old Town - if you want to stay in very touristy old town

Simple room up two flights of stairs

Restaurant was closed but we were not told in advance. Very difficult to find somewhere to eat in the old town. Public parking is 350 metres away on a very steep hill. Hard work carrying bags.

The room was warm and nice, the restaurant downstairs was good and we slept very well

There was a lot of dust below the bed, there was not a hot blanket in the crib for our baby and breakfast was too expensive (in our opinion).

check in was problematic , the receptionist in the evening was not helpful at all or willing to provide any solution to the wrong bed set up in the triple room - 3 single beds requested but on check in was 1 double and 1 single . After the management got involved ( after an hour) the situation was resolved quickly. - thank you !

Very cozy hotel in the middle of Briançon. the hotel ia quite typical and serves a very good breakfast. staff was also very gentle. Bed was very comfortable

What a lovely little hotel, our room was wonderful and very comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend it and we will book again.

The staff were terrific and very welcoming - they were completely faultless. The breakfast and the restaurant were excellent. This is a great way to visit Briancon and to see the high Alpes.

My booking with Booking.Com said I had booked an air conditioned room when in fact the hotel has no such rooms. Some local traffic and parking guidance in advance would have been helpful

Exceptional

We both loved absolutely everything about our stay here. It is located in the old town centre, very close from the parking. The room is old style and provides you with the necessary comfort. We were glad to have found this stay, as we booked it on the go while travelling from Annecy.
