The Kensington

The property is in a good location. There is onsite parking, and although this is limited, we found a space. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

The room was very small with no hanging space for clothes. A group of residents in the adjacent apartment which belongs to the hotel, were very noisy, playing loud music well into the night.

Location was what we expected as stayed in that area before, and there was on site parking. Easy access to room by stairs and lift, and there was a bar and lounge with pool table and assortment of board games. Also in the lounge was a large pad of local area maps which is useful for new guests. There was a good choice of breakfast drinks - tea, coffee and juices.

The room was quite small meaning that although there was a double bed, there was not room for seating which meant sitting on the bed. The shower area was also small which meant there was not much room to manouver. Breakfast was ok, menu offered choice of brown or white bread but someone asked for brown and there wasn't any, and cereal was a choice of rice krispies or coco pops, maybe weetabix or something for the adults would be appreciated. On returning to hotel at night, there was a party in full swing and we could hear the music clearly in the room so there was no sleep until it had gone quiet about 11pm. There was smokers around the front area, therefore the smell was noticeable in the room - maybe have a designated smoking area away from room windows?
