A very pleasant stay in Newry

Breakfast was unexpectedly excellent - usually, hotel breakfasts are all much the same. The Mourne had a breakfast menu. Also, I had yoghurt and grapes to start my breakfast and the quality of the fruit was excellent. I was really pleased by breakfast. Other things: not too far from Newry, plenty of parking in the hotel car park, the bed was comfortable. Hot water in the shower took a while and there was nowhere to put the soap, which was a bit awkward. However, that was my only criticism and it's a small one.

The shower needs somewhere for soap, shampoo, etc and the hot water takes a while. But it was fine once it kicked in.

Received a warm welcome at check in and wished a safe journey on departure the following morning, had a meal in the bar which was excellent as was the breakfast,

Good value in a reasonably priced hotel

The hotel was quiet. The rooms were comfortable and warm. The breakfast was particularly nice - everything was freshly cooked and warm with a good choice. The staff were friendly.

The outside of the hotel could do with a bit of brightening up. The bathrooms in the rooms are a bit dated.

A lot of flies in the bar area, I know this on occasions cannot be avoided but it was very distracting while trying to chat. Ordered food, 1 x wrong meal was brought out, this was kindly replaced without any hassle, Little or no sleep with the noise, foreign males out shouting on the corridor to each other, on the phone outside our room, doors slamming, TV on really loud at 4am. Breakfast was lovely, we had asked for no black pudding and one of meals had this on, we asked for brown toast and this never came out.

The staff were great, it was a lovely quiet stay and I’ll definitely be coming back.

The bed was very comfy. The staff member I met the night I arrived was really friendly and helpful, as was the person serving breakfast the next morning. The breakfast was tasty and the selection was good.

I could be wrong as I hopped in and out of the shower very quickly but I feel the water pressure was a bit low- however this didn’t really impact my stay at all.

receptionist late sat evening and Sunday morning was a wonderful lady. very helpful, friendly and a lady. she is an asset to the hotel

arrived sat around 1.30 approx to c if we could check in. receptionist very cold, not welcoming and just said no. I know we were a bit early as I did e mail and was told that I could check in setting 2pm. it was like we were disturbing her. she didn't even offer to hold onto our bags as we were traveling into Belfast for a match. a hospitality course might help her.

The Mourne Country Hotel is ideal for my visits to this part of the country.

I stayed two nights. The staff were very helpful and respectful. The room was spotless and the bed so comfortable. I had dinner one night and my choice of food was excellent. The breakfast was lovely too.

I think I would only be nitpicking if I were looking for faults.
