Rooms were warm bed was comfortable the duvet in particular was very nice food was lovely

Nice enough hotel but if you’re a non-smoker be weary.
The staff were lovely and welcoming and some had clearly been there a long time and locals could have a laugh with them. Made me feel comfortable in the restaurant.
The bottom floor has a corridor to the rooms which has some fire doors half way down. I was given a “non smoking” room.. I didn’t even know smoking rooms were still a thing in 2026. Through the night I woke and could smell cigarette smoke coming through my bathroom vent but also when opening my hotel door the corridor reeked of stale cigarettes. Once I went through the fire doors halfway down the corridor, it smelled fine. I assume my room (115) was in the smoking section of the hotel but not suitably ventilated away from the smokers. For this reason, I will never go back. Food was nice enough. Guinness glasses could do with updating, I had one from 2008 so the Guinness wasn’t the greatest.

Staff were very good and welcoming.
Overpriced and not good value. Hotel would need serious upgrade. Very old and tired. Location is poor. Outside town centre. Situated in commercial/industrial zone. Outside appearance poor.
