Lovely old hotel and perfect destination but unfortunately my bedroom window was next to the train station so was noisy people coming and going if you had a bedroom the other side this would be ideal
But dont let this put you off it was in a perfect location near to the snowdonia area and in the Lovely town of Porthmadog
Lovely location enough shops to keep you busy a train to take you to beautiful destinations Lovely old hotel

I needed to catch an early train following my stay and the Queens Rooms is right next to the station. It is also near to Tesco.
The TV and shower were quite good. My room was quiet. Checking in and leaving are quite straightforward if you have a mobile phone. It is quite good value compared with other accommodation in Porthmadog
The bed was too firm for me. I found the sloping floors a bit disconcerting. A hairdryer would have been nice,

Was absolutely as described as a work in progress, so I expected nothing but a comfortable room. The room was large and clean. It had a comfortable bed, TV, coffee and tea, plates, bowls, and cutlery. Everything one needed for a place to stay overnight. Excellent value for money.
Nothing. I got more than I was expecting.

The price!
Nothing much, it is obviously a bit of a work in progress but they make that very clear, so it's all good.

Excellent location next to station. Good size room which was clean and comfortable. Quiet as just outside main town centre.
Struggled to hang up wet clothing on the hanging arrangement provided and I was on my own so only one set at a time.

The room was much better than I had expected.
To be honest, it's all good news. The landlady is gradually restoring the hotel to it's former glory, and she deserves a great deal of credit for all her hard work.

A fair price for what it was. Queens Rooms is a work in progress so there are no meal options but a great value breakfast is just a few yards away at the railway station and there are plenty of restaurants nearby for evening meals. Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom and shower were good too.

Excellent location. A large twin room, clean and airy, with plenty of light and large bay windows as part of a historic building, with character and charm. Very quiet, yet centrally located, by the train station and bus stops, as well as amenities, with a large Tesco and at the end of the High Street, with a short walk to the harbour, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions, such as the heritage railways, including the Welsh Highland Railway and opposite the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway. Helpful to have crockery and cutlery provided, and porridge for breakfast by way of sachets, just add hot water. Sian, the host is very welcoming.

Value for money. Good location. Beds comfortable and bedding clean and fresh.
Tired decor. Renovations still on going from 2017. Work done to a poor standard in the rooms we were allocated.

Absolutely spotless. Lovely sized room, high ceilings. We had a great sleep.
Was pretty noisy in the morning due to close proximity to the road and not very thick windows. Wasn't an issue as we get up early anyway but if we were on holiday it would have been annoying

Well placed and the owner is trying to make improvements. Large room.
Not much at this price.

Location
I’t did say on booking that the property was being done up slowly but when we pulled up, first look I was wondering if I’d made the right choice by staying there! I was pleasantly surprised though, rooms were basic but tidy and beds were clean and very comfy. Happy with our stay and would stay again.

There was no breakfast but that suited me. Porridge tea and coffee was supplied. Very clean and comfortable. Great location for visiting the local area. Free parking and convenient for shops, petrol and local amenities
I did have some noisy neighbours slamming doors but they stopped after I asked them to.

Big, bright room. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. We stayed on a very hot day but the windows opened wide to let in a good breeze.
Because it was very hot we slept with the windows open and this let in some traffic noise. But as the windows are double glazed this probably wouldn't have been an issue on a cooler day with windows closed.

You pay your money and take a chance. This was just fine for a one night stop over. Sian, the owner, very nice - and well respected in the most local hostelry! (I hasten to add... Not that I met her there - always on premises)
Nothing... it was just fine. About 10-15 minutes walk from one end of the High Street to the other (to the Harbour). Right by Portmadog railway station. For me, well priced (by online comparison).

The room seem very run down and needed decorating. there was a lot of noise from the road outside and traffic started going past early in the morning. The room was never cleaned during my stay and it was just a place to sleep with no breakfast.

Great location, just a gew steps from the railway office. Room was large. Bed was clean.
Old building. Check-in process was dependent on having a phone that worked in Britain. I didn’t (thanks ALOT AT&T) but was aided by passing tenants who did have such a phone. That was my only contact with building staff.

The size of the room was great, bathroom was a good size too. There was tea coffee and even porridge with sugar, kettle and plates/cutlery. Well considered for a place that is still going through renovations.
Would be good to have a fan as the windows didn’t let much air through. Would also be good to have a hair dryer.

The rooms were clean, modern and had all that we needed for a night in Porthmadog. Little things stood out, like the way the bed was moved a couple of centimetres from the wall to make access to the sockets easy, and how there were plates and bowls to allow you to bring a takeaway in, or to make the most of the instant packet of porridge. We also loved the shape and spaciousness of the room, with the chairs and table in the bay window - a perfect place for a good read. And finally we appreciated the honesty about the journey the owner and the property are on. Whilst the building doesn’t look ‘done’ from the outside, as owners of an old property ourselves we appreciated that a lot of love and hard work goes into restoring these properties. If the quality of the bedroom finish is anything to go by, it’s going to be amazing when it’s done. We’d love to go back to see the finished product.
Nothing. It is what it says it would be.

Access to the hotel was good, no problems with parking, good location for what we wanted. Nearby facilities to cater for all needs...
Nothing.

Great location. Thoughtful provision of info and everything needed for stress free self catering.
Nowhere to hang clothes.

The room was on the larger size, recently decorated. The bed was a comfortable king size. Although breakfast wasn't included a cereal was provided at no extra charge. The accommodation is undergoing extensive renovation and will have great potential when complete. The location is very good with ample parking, close to rail and bus links.
For some people the renovation work should be more advanced before letting the rooms out and may put people off. Being on the top floor meant the stairs were a challenge but the host did say if contact was made prior a room lower down may be possible.

The bed was comfortable with tea/coffee facilities in the room. Plenty of off street parking and it was close to shops and restaurants.
Room was on top floor and no lift (not that I saw one). Some of the lights in the hallways did not work. The bathroom was badly lit. The shower was blocked so could not take a proper shower during my stay (when this was pointed out, I did get a small discount issued).
Breakfast was a couple of packets of porridge!
