About this house rental
Much loved family holiday home with heated pool in the friendly French village of Sorede; only twenty minutes from the Spanish border in the foothills of the Pyrenees, this comfortable family home allows you to enjoy two countries and cultures at the same time.
Located in the popular and picturesque Catalan region, which with its rich culture and passion for food, wine and rugby, is renowned as the sunniest place in France, Sorede is known as ‘The Jewel of the Alberes’.
The house is 5 kilometres from excellent beaches and twenty minutes by car from the lively and atmospheric coastal resort of Collioure, famous as the home of the ‘Fauve’ movement of painters led by Picasso. Centre of Sorede and next door village of Laroque are both only a ten minute walk from the house with a good choice of village shops, bars and restaurants (3 listed in Gault Millau and Michelin guides). The area provides everything village life, the mountains and the beaches have to offer. This is ideal walking and cycling country, with year round sunshine, and typical Mediterranean night-life for teenagers just 15 minutes away on the coast.
The house has been recently furnished as a fresh, comfortable family retreat, sleeping eight with three bedrooms with twin beds and a mezzanine with two twin beds also; with TV/lounge area seating eight people, 2 bathrooms, fitted kitchen and an adjoining dining veranda with seating for ten. Wifi/Internet is connected.
Outside, there is a covered terrace for entertaining and dining for 10 people and a second open dining area with table and chairs for eight, Weber gas BBQ and a large private heated pool (10m x 4m), with sun decks, solar shower, parasol and loungers, all in a safe enclosed garden.
Ideal for families with young children as the property is completely enclosed and the pool is fitted with an electric safety cover.

Everything was as expected and access into the villa was a breeze.
It was blistering 40 degree heat when we stayed which meant the villa could have benefited from air conditioning, however we managed with the fans provided. Once the extreme heat subsided the temperature inside the villa was manageable.
David and his team were responsive to our issues and these were resolved quickly.
We would stop here again the next time we visit the area.

Really nice villa in a nice neighbourhood. Beautiful pool and pool area. It was very hot our first week. We dreamt of Air Con! Having said that very well supplied with fans. Great gas barbecue. Villa owner and local property manager were both extremely helpful. We’d definitely stay there again

A wonderful time was had by the whole family. The owner David kept us updated all the way through the booking process and maintained the attentiveness from beginning to end - nothing was too much bother, with very fast communication throughout. We all enjoyed the pool and the views and the property lacked nothing but air conditioning - though we were there at the hottest time of the year with the pool reaching 32c!
