Chill place with nice view and free breakfast

I spent 10 relaxing days here. My room was quite nice, with a very comfortable bed, a good shower, a ceiling fan, and a table to work at. I particularly liked the free breakfast that's included—fresh fruit, cereal, bread, coffee, and freshly pressed OJ. Most guests go up for breakfast and it's a nice atmosphere, with a view of the sea. Great way to start the day. Thanks for having me!

I was woken up by a barking dog a few times in the middle of the night—sometimes it would bark for up to 30 minutes, which was quite annoying. Nothing the owner can do about nearby dogs, but just FYI that it could disturb your sleep (then again, this is likely to happen anywhere you stay in PE). There's also a Selina not too far away that pumps some loud music in the evenings.

One night in PE

Our first room had a leaky toilet, and we were moved right away. It's located a bit away from the "main" part of the town with restaurants and bars, but there are some nearby. The beach is a few minutes away, but it's a bit of a climb to get back to the hotel. The owner arranged a tour and a taxi for us and was friendly. The free buffet breakfast had fruits, cereal, bread and juice. There were also other breakfasts available to buy. There was a hammock outside our room from where you could watch the lizards and birds.

A bit difficult to get a hold of staff without their Whatsapp number. It's just off the main road in and out of the city, so some larger trucks were heard.

We left before we unpacked. The standard rooms are nothing like the photos... No walls, just straw shutters that don’t go all the way up. The mosquitiera was dirty and also doesn’t go all the way up. The fan looked like it will fall any minute and surprise you in your dreams / nightmares. The linen and towels had stains on them. The water stops. I could probably continue..

Very pleasant experience and very kind owner

I was really pleased by the hotel and by the owner Aladino who is a real gentlement. We had some family issues and we had to leave the room 2 days earlier than expected and he was extremely kind to follow up with us and provide a full refund of the nights we couldn't stay at the hotel. The hotel is very well located, close to the beach, and the only weak thing is the limited parking inside the facility. The rooms were clean and everything was working. The breakfast is good too.

The staff/owner are incredibly kind and accommodating. Also breakfast was nice. The property was pretty with beautiful plants. The location is a 5-10 minute walk to the beach.

The hotel is located literally on the side of a major road, kind of like a highway. Our room (ocean view rooms) was about 15ft from the road, so all night we were hearing honking, cars accelerating and massive truck breaks. Also since the room isn’t fully closed to the outdoors, the fumes of exhaust would come into the bedroom. It was also uncomfortably hot in the room but we hadn’t selected an A/C so that’s our mistake.

Really friendly people, continental breakfast and coffee is included in the morning. View from the common area is very nice, only 5 min walking to the beach. We arrived really early since we took a night bus but they let us check in early without any problem.

Superb

We booked for 2 nights, at the end we stayed for two weeks. The family running this place is absolutely lovely, super friendly. Our room was downstairs, we had a own hammock with a really nice view. The internet was really good, in two weeks we just had 1 day issues but that's absolutely normal for Puerto Escondido. Don't expect something luxury, but you have all you need and they clean the room every day. The hotel is on the main street, so you can hear the cars and trucks passing on the main road also at night. For us it was no problem, but everyone is different with that. On the street you can reach taxis and collectivos quickly, and also to go down to the Zicatela Beach and Party area was super easy. We really enjoyed our time in Puerto Escondido.

We understand that it is important to have a dog watching the door at night for the secure, but sometimes we were a bit afraid of the dog, especially at night. But this is also a general thing in Puerto Escondido. Better don't walk on dark streets at night because there is probably one or two dogs waiting somewhere for secure and don't like visitors.

Good stay - except for the family's dog.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location is good, it's close to the beach and the main road. View and breakfast are good too.

Unfortunately, I was bitten by the owner's dog while staying there. Although they offered me support afterward, I was very scared and afraid of infections. I went to the hospital to check and in the following days, the dog was still around at night and ready to attack again. I wish the family could take some action because a dangerous dog within the property is not how it should be.
