Eco Hotel Black & White - Anuradhapura

The newer rooms are very nice and from higher up there are some nice views of the surroundings. The pool area is nice and peaceful, and the food we had was also really good. Staff really went out of their way to help us. Thanks a lot!

Such a beautiful green place close to Mihintale with wonderful staff and a great pool area. We received a room upgrade upon arrival and it must have been the biggest room we stayed in in Sri Lanka. Through the hotel we arranged a tuk tuk driver who took us to the highlights of Anuradhapura and Mihintale, which saved us time (and money for unnecessary tickets). Food was decent and well priced.

A few improvements can be made to make it even more comfortable, such as fresh coffee at breakfast (instead of instant) and a check of the room fixtures (door, toilet, tap). Otherwise our stay was perfectly fine.

The property had peacocks and birds in the garden. Staff all very friendly. Room was large but I had booked a triple room (though solo), since it was the only option available - therefore, I cannot speak for what the other rooms are like. Room had hairdryer, kettle, a/c and fan options.

Even though it was a 4-night stay, my room was not cleaned once. There were ants coming out of the socket (on my first evening, I tried to use the kettle but after picking it up, realised it was full of ants - they gave me another kettle the following day, after I pointed this out.). My room was above the dining area, so it was noisy. The WiFi did not work in the room (nor did my e-sim get connectivity most of the time). There are no restaurants nearby so you have to eat at the hotel- for vegetarians, there were hardly any options!

Property needs lots of maintenance. Tv didn’t work, smelly bathroom. Linen wasn’t cleaned and changed properly. Breakfast was average and it was nice they made Sri Lankan pancakes for us and rap the leftovers to take with us. The lady at the premises was very kind.
