Foldgate

Beautiful spacious house with bedrooms and bathrooms to easily cope with 4 adults an 4 children Remote stunning area with easy access (by car) to explore the lake district. Perfect for those who did not want to be based in an area overrun with Tourists. Close enough to shops and pub by car, and beaches and incredible walks.

I stayed here over the weekend with a group of friends just to get away and it was such great accommodation. It’s nice and remote with lots of walks and the house itself was big, clean and comfortable. The hot tub was a great luxury to have access to as well!

The Kitchen is a lovely, sociable space - lovely for a large group, perfect for a special birthday. With a bit of effort, this place could be something really special. All the bedrooms are generous sizes. Great parking. Nice pub within walking distance.

Host contacted me 2 days before my stay to tell me the hot-tub was out of action. I had guests travelling form all over the country. I would not have booked the property without access to a hot tub. Outside spaces were overgrown and untidy. We stayed in February, so never planned to use the BBQ area, but it looked awful. TV had no connection to the Sky Box, no batteries in the remote control. TV aerial blew down on our first night and banged and scraped on the roof all night. We informed owner, who thanked us, but did nothing... so it banged and scraped all the next night too. My bed had 2 mattresses, one on top of the other, which was strange and uncomfortable. The whole house felt a bit shabby - like someone had lost interest.
