- Good dinner buffet, breakfast buffet is ok but not spectacular for a 5* and could be more varied between days - Clean rooms - Fresh beach towels everyday - Friendly resraurant staff - Easy beach access and easy access to rest of the island - Well equipped gym - Nice shower and bathroom area
- Reception is a little transactional not to the level of service you expect from 5* hotel - There was ALOT of noise on multiple nights we were at the property because of the beach party they organise. This is really not acceptable given the price we pay to be here in particular on Saturday its very hard to sleep until 1am! - The decor and interior design is a little all over the place and lacks some elegance. - The same music tracks are played in the restaurant everyday! - No elevator for top floors - They come to change your towels each evening and knock and random times which js annoying when your trying to relax. - Squeaky bed

The staff was amazing. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. It was lovely to also meet the owner. The entertainment each evening was enjoyable. The rooms are nicely decorated and the food was amazing
5.0 / 10.0·Dec 2025
Positive: Check-in process went smoothly. Pillows and bed are comfortable. De Silva, in the main bar/restaurant, carries the weight on the hospitality team. Evening dinner buffet was above average. The beach is world-class and good for swimming. Start negative review: We structured our five-week East Africa trip around staying here. It was the lowest value and most disappointing stay we've ever had anywhere in the world - we checked out three nights early. This isn't a five-star hotel by any definition, including the Tourism Authority of Seychelles. The photos are highly misleading. You will not be staying a cool, vibe-y property, but instead a dated and unremarkable place that requires substantial renovations rather than constant expansion. One reason we stayed was to meet people and have five-star hospitality with a communal approach. However, the beach bar in the photos is physically disconnected from the property. There were private events half of the nights we had intended to stay, so nobody could have a drink at sunset or attend their promoted DJ nights. There are no other beach bar options nearby. It's obvious the owner prioritizes maximizing profits over the guest experience. The property lacks a coherent identity or branding. Rob and Ron tried their best to compensate, but a lunch buffet and a drink coupon doesn't compare to a missed party or a sunset drink.
We came to Seychelles for creole cuisine, not the English breakfast slop they serve each morning. We realized the owner Rob was wildly out of touch when he bragged Le Duc has "the best breakfast in Seychelles." The actual layout of the property and poorly insulated rooms means you can hear EVERYTHING from 6am to 10pm. The single reason we left a 5/10 instead of 1/10 is that the owner, Rob, and head manager, Ron, issued a hassle-free full refund. After we left, we stayed at a basic homestay in La Digue village at one-fifth the price. It got things right that Le Duc didn't: consistent hot water, a cold AC, and strong Wifi. That guesthouse also charged one-tenth the price for laundry. We spent five nights on Mahe at a Seychelles five-star certified Mango House LXR afterward, which blew away our expectations and was better on every dimension at $200 less nightly than the price of Le Duc.  However, it was uncomfortable, unethical, and against Booking.com's TOS when Rob asserted twice that "we had an understanding" that I wouldn't leave a review. That was the moment I decided to leave this review. Issuing a refund is the minimum expectation for lost time and the effort to get to Praslin. Rob even dared to ask us to "invest" in his new project just before we escaped. We have luxury development experience in a tropical island, and we wouldn't get within a thousand kilometers of this or his future places. I expect that management will respond to this with AI as they've done for every other review on this and other platforms. Do not come here for peace and quiet. Maybe still come to Praslin, and hang out at the beach bar, but don't stay here. Other Praslin "luxury" properties probably aren't the answer either. We've never left a property early, until now. We felt foolish for staying here.
