Mango House, Seychelles, LXR Hotels and Resorts

Mango House is an absolute dream! The property itself is gorgeous—every corner is a photo op, and the views of the turquoise water are just unreal. It’s got that perfect mix of high-end luxury and a cozy, boutique feel that makes you never want to leave. The best part of the whole experience was the staff. They are the heart and soul of this place! Their service is next-level and they made us feel so welcome from day one. Special thanks to Karen , Rachel , Carlos , Thomas , Edwin and Anna you guys made our vacation the best. And of course to rest of amazing staff as well.

I'm very ambivalent about my experience at Mango house. Some things were excellent and performed at a really high level - the service all throughout the hotel, willingness to help, the check-in experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, all the common areas are well kept and spotless. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean at all times. AC was so powerful we only had to turn it on for a few hours and most of the time we kept it close. The tea/coffee corner was great. We were provided with bottles of water everywhere. The bathroom was huge and I loved the fact that it had both a bath and a walk-in shower. Where they fell short: The beach is really small and not really a place for lounging. They have 1 tiny strip, maybe 10-15 meters wide, and another slightly larger strip which is really beautiful but doesn't have a lot of room so you can't really lounge there. It's very nice for snorkeling but be sure to bring some sort of sea sandals or shoes because both my husband and I got our feet wounded there. Food was bad. With the exception of the Creole restaurant, which we only tried on the last day, everything was really not good, especially for its price. Breakfast had very little options, maybe 2 types of cheese, 2 types of bread, no salads. If you ask for toast, it came burnt many times. At lunch, anything I ordered with chicken, came dry and overcooked. I wouldn't mind if it was cheap. But it can't be that expensive and that bad. Mini bar only had chocolate and there was no store in the hotel so if you want to get anything in between you're pretty much stuck. Anything from room service is expensive, and usually just doesn't taste good. There were a few times where we struggled to find a service person, especially around the main house pool. It also takes a long time to get your dish, no matter where you order from (at the restaurant, by the pool, room service). The evening before we left there were very strong winds. Most restaurants have their tables outside and the staff seems flustered about what to do with the guests, which is weird because A - there is a forecast so they shouldn't be so surprised by it, B - this kind of weather happens in Seychelles from time to time, especially during this season, so shouldn't they already know what to do? I do have to point out they offered to pay for our meal for the inconvenience of that evening. I got 2 treatments at the spa. The full body one was quite good, the foot massage unfortunately was not great. The staff at the spa were extremely friendly, polite and accommodating. Overall we had a nice time but the tiny, rocky beach, some service fails and limited dining options were disappointing, especially for the price we paid.

The room is clean and good. The bathroom is ok. Facilities are accetable (small gym) and the breakfast is below average. The beach is very small. For what you pay, there are better options and definitley cheaper prices for same services, view ...etc
