We just wanted a basic, clean, secure room to stay in whilst we attended an event nearby. This was exactly we got and staff were very friendly and helpful
Nothing to really dislike. Clean, no frills rooms.

Location great. Good value and single room very clean and comfortable and well equipped.
One thing only. The smell from the shower room very unpleasant. Probably a macerator issue or drain problem.

Lots of light bleed into room from poor fitting curtains.
Mattress cheap and springs could be felt.

The pub and pub food were 5 stars.
My tiny, not very clean, annexe room around the back of the hotel was 2 stars.
The location next to the noisy church clock that chimed every 15 minutes and clanged on every hour was most annoying, and the horrible little bathroom was awful.

Lovely reception at the bar. Clean room. Fairly basic but everything worked. Good central location, and close to where the friends we were seeing live.
No breakfast but you are within spitting distance of a Costas Coffee and there's an agreement with the nearby Inn for a full English if that's your thing.

Cheap mattress, smelly bathroom, very noisy from pressure pump all night, cold room - the radiator didn't work, shower head was broken, bathroom door stuck. Pub is very nice, stuff nice, food was good, but come on - fix up your place - it is an embarrassment, I had such a bad night - in the morning I went to sleep in the car🙁

Comfortable room , friendly staff and very clean
Fire Alarm went off at 4.30 am
No fault of the hotel but woke us up and had trouble getting back to sleep after the fire checks undertaken by the staff

Good location. Rooms were up to date and really good value. Modern bathrooms. Lovely old building with very wonky floors. There's an Indian restaurant and a Thai just across the road and A Costa for coffee and a bacon roll in the morning.
No instructions on arrival, for how to leave the pub in the morning. We had planned to eat in the pub as it had good food reviews but the restaurant area was used for a private function so there was no food . We had three rounds of drinks, of a medium pinot and lemonade and a biere morreti. Two rounds were £12.90 and the third was £16. I queried it and was told I hadn't been charged for lemonade the first two times. Over £3 for a splash of lemonade?! £16 for medium wine, splash of lemonade and a beer 😞 Offset to this was the great room cost.

The area and the pub
I booked this on the basis of the photos on Booking.com, lovely old characters rooms in keeping with the pub, as we love old coaching inns, what I got was a basic budget butlins looking shalet, that smelt like a hospital ward. The carpet was quite marked in places, the bathroom was absolutely tiny and water went everywhere when showering, sink size inadequate, room size inadequate, not enough space for 2 people, headboard not fixed to bed. The price charged for this shalet was the same as the rooms they advertised on booking.com, which are proper bedrooms with proper size bathrooms, this was only worth £40, if that. We were advised by member of checking in staff that food was served between 5 & 7, when we came in for food we were told that there was no food being served that night, not very good.

Bed was comfy room clean
Comfy bed , would have preferred a slightly bigger room though.

I like that they are individual outside seperate from the pub accommodation. Beds are nice and comfy staff were helpful and accommodating we have stayed at this property a few times now. Its fine for a short stay

Room was clean, wifi worked well.
Cramped room, but OK for one night. Arrived about 7.30 but no food available as live music on. Breakfast available for £10 at another "fellow" pub down the road - I didn't bother.
Room overlooked outdoor drinking courtyard, so not quiet!

It was clean, smelt fresh, had everything I needed in the room, the staff were welcoming, and I wish I'd either got there earlier or stayed longer the following day, as it's on a beautiful High Street that must be quite a beautiful sight through winter or any other day for that matter. Good value for money.

Super modern conversion at rear of pub undercover parking for my guzzi by health centre. Was a family room with 2 beds spacious & cosy allocated by Andy... Thanks. Clean modern bathroom with long shower so you can save water! It was a Saturday night so there's usually a band playing [I used to live nearby] so stay up and enjoy it as it's usually rock & therefore correctly loud unless you're one that can sleep through anything. Tea & coffee facilities in room. Soap & gels provided. Lots of places to eat on doorstep in or out. Brilliant.
Strange whirring noise in background continued all day & night. Maybe refrigerator as on & off.

Was good room, I would pay for a double again, even if traveling on your own saa its a little bit further away from the pub.
Pub was nice and friendly.
Not to much to do in the location, used it to travel to silverstone.
As i used if for a bed only. this was a great option.
Again cant really fault it. So please if you need a location to stay i would consider this.
One thing to bear in mind, Its a Pub. Can be noisy but this is to be expected. double room was far enough away for me to fall asleep after a long day at silverstone and some pints

Comfortable clean bed
Very loud music beneath my bedroom until gone 11pm making sleep, watching tv, making phone calls impossible. This level of disruption should have been advised before booking. Also I requested a bath not shower and was told a room with a bath had been booked but my en-suite had a shower. Expectations once again not met. Very disappointed.

Very friendly staff. It’s a 400 year old Inn : the rooms we’re Spartan but spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Breakfast is served offsite site from a sister Inn 50m down the road and was excellent in quality and very good value @ £10 for Full English inc everything.
The pub was heaving on Friday night e we it a very convivial atmosphere.
Last orders for food on Friday and Saturday was before 7pm!
The atmosphere in the pub was brilliant, but would not suit anyone looking for an early night in a room directly above!

Clean and comfortable room, nice bathroom with instant hot water and power shower. Nice central High Street location with public car park through walkway to the rear of the hotel. The staff were all very friendly and despite being busy on the Friday and Saturday nights bar service was quick
It could have been made clear on the website that they stopped serving food at (to me) the very early time of 8.00pm, whilst on Friday and Saturday it was 7.00pm due to Bingo and live music respectively. Fortunately there is a very good Italian restaurant 'Casa Cento' only a 5mins walk away

Nice pub
Had breakfast in another pub at reduced rate, due to our stay .
Booked 3 rooms and was split up from my group after being told we all had twin outside rooms

The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of supplies for making drinks.
There was a broken towel hanger and the hot tap in the sink was difficult to turn off.

The room was clean and comfortable , staff were friendly and approachable and all round pleasant, the pub had a nice atmosphere.
Shower didnt work , told while we were out on the saturday it was resolved , however this was not the case , when escelated to whom i beleived was the manager at check out his response was simply "ive been away all weekend" what relevance that had when other staff members should be compotent in resolving an issue such as this i have no idea , dont get me wrong they did apologise but myself and my friend had pretty much had a basic human right removed from our stay out of lack of motavation. The manager didnt offer any sort of consilidation for the inconvenience just shrugged it off , such a shame because it is really lovely just a disapointment the customer service / problem resolution wasnt up to par.

The bed was hard and it was a fairly warm evening but I couldn't open the windows and it was stiflingly hot. No respite at all. Also the next day there was nowhere to check out

Very little
The pub was very very loud. One of the twin beds couldn’t be slept in as one of the mattress springs was protruding from the mattress. I have been offered a full refund. We arrived back at our hotel at near to midnight and no one was around for us to change rooms, even if that was possible.
