Location, right in the centre of Stony Stratford. Free car park at the back of the hotel so very convenient.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Room decent size, clean with usual tea/coffee.
Breakfast included and good choice (continental/cereal and then cooked).
Nothing

Having stayed at The Cock before I knew what to expect. The staff are great, as is the location. The hotel has "character", both in the positive and negative sense.
The bedrooms could do with a makeover; not to make them modern but to give a feeling that they are not falling apart. The carpark is chaotic, with no clear indication of where to park for the hotel.
Not the fault of the hotel, but good to know, is that the church bell ring through the night (every 15 mins) so bring some earplugs even if you are a light sleeper.

Great location beautiful old building.
The upstairs and bedroom are old and dated in need of sprucing up.

Location is great. Taxi service excellent and bar service very good too.
Old style taps on shower mixer, not easy to work.

Rooms and bar were fine. Good parking facilities.
The evening meal could [should] have been better. We [three people] selected the Lamb Shanks; they were [sadly] 'dried-out' and leathery.

It was dark when we arrived, in terrestrial rain & had to find the parking behind the hotel building.. in front of the entrance to reception from the back of hotel was a huge puddle- a lake really !
Waited for staff to finally greet us , and take our details , slowly whilst dripping wet from rain & wet feet ! Room was underwhelming . Dated & shabby & small . The bathroom needed too much attention to mention !
We got ready to go out for our evening with friends … when we returned to our room later that evening we got the overwhelming funky smell of toilet waste .. it lingered all night & I just wanted to get out of there and go home ! The bed felt grubby so we slept (hardly slept actually !) in our clothes .
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Read the above ! - everything !
The parking , the huge puddles in the car park & lake leading to reception doors !
The rooms are shabby , unclean and smelt of sewage . The carpets were grubby , and bed uncomfortable .

As always, booking, check-in and check-out were very easy and straight-forward, with a friendly and helpful member of staff on reception when we arrived.
It looked as if Greene King have spent a fair bit on redecorating or even replacing the en-suite facilities within the room we stayed in but some of the plumbing fixtures were coming away from the walls as if that part of the work was done by someone on their first day or work experience i.e. quality assurance seems to have been absent in some instances.
The Cock Hotel has always been a bit "quirky" at times, which contributes to its "character" but, in old naval parlance, the ship has been spoiled for a ha'pence of tar - come on Greene King, you can do better than this.

Staff were absolutely fantastic, they couldn’t do enough for you especially Kelly she was exceptional

The bar, locaation and staff were very helpful.
Our room was in the old part of the building and is need of an upgrade. It didn't seem very clean when you look around the room at say the skirting boards and the carpet has had better days.

Included Breakfast is a bonus
Room 2, TV did not work -- no ariel 😒! It's an old building that needs some TLC and double glazing -- cold room with winter weather.

Location
Room was adequate, we stayed in room 23 in the courtyard. The nets are ripped the curtains and not totally connected. The sink and bath don’t drain. You cannot ventilate the room when it’s to warm. And you cannot move around the bed. However the bed was fairly comfortable.

Lovely old building, wish I tried the bar and food, nice atmosphere and quite busy on a Sunday night which was great. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful, will definitely stay again.

Lovely polite, friendly and helpful staff. Christine was very chatty and welcomed us, and served a very tasty breakfast in the morning. Elouise was so nice serving our evening meal. 2nd breakfast was friendly and efficient Zoe and lastly David who was outside cleaning the yard and he thanked us for staying, hoped we'd had a good time, wished us a safe journey and hoped we'd return. Breakfasts and dinner were excellent and good value.
Nothing - thank-you.

Seasoning on the chips, rosamary I think, made the chips uneatable! Which was O as I'm on a diet!

great little bed and breakfast hotel, good value for money.
couldn't join the wifi but did't try very hard and the staff sorted it for me

Good location in town. Limited parking but when going in and asking we were advised where we could park
Food was variable. Katsu curry was lovely and plentiful scampi was disappointing for an adult portion. The room was clean but for the money it would make a huge difference to spend a bit of money to redecorate and a few little upgrades. Liked the old building and its quirks but a bit of attention to what people notice would have improved it when downstairs is so well presented

As always, the staff I saw where polite, friendly and helpful.
Good to see Chris is still there on the morning shift
Appreciating the Cock Hotel has its own "character", the carpets and paintwork generally look tired and a bit grubby in places.
The window to my room, 15, needs to be repaired properly, not a temporary "bodge-job"
