Lion d'Or Paris Suites

The location is almost unbeatable. You stay within two blocks of the Tuileries. The Louvre is a five-minute walk, as is the Seine. There are many bus stops and train stations in the area, so it is easy to get to any part of the city. The room itself was quirky, fun and well-laid out. We stayed for 10 days with two adults and two older teens, and we were very comfortable. The breakfasts were superb and the perfect way to start the day. We also traveled during a heat wave, and the room air-conditioning was a life saver.

The hotel staff were welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was scheduled and wonderful. We loved the loft unit for our family especially younger family loved the novelty and a bit of privacy.

We overall like the property. Since we were in a 5th floor loft you need to walk up 6 flights of steps to access your room. There was not an elevator in our building (I believe the main building has an elevator). So we were careful about not forgetting items in the room. Returning to your room is a bit of work after walking all day. We knew this might be the case and it was fine. We tended to be out sightseeing all day and then returned at night.

We stayed in a family suite at Hotel Lion d'Or Paris and would happily stay again. The location is excellent. The Louvre is just a few minutes' walk away, with easy access to the Seine, Notre-Dame, Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Élysées, Galeries Lafayette, the Opera district, shops, cafés and restaurants. Despite being so central, the street is quiet, although service vehicles can be heard from around 6:30am. Our room was spacious and comfortable for three people, with a large bed and sofa bed. It was spotless, cleaned daily, and included a fridge, microwave and small kitchenette. The air conditioning was excellent, which was much appreciated during the 35°C temperatures we experienced at the end of May. The staff were outstanding throughout our stay. They carried our luggage, refilled our water bottles, helped us get changed before check-in, and gave useful local advice. A particularly thoughtful touch was decorating our room with balloons and leaving a lovely note for my birthday. The bathroom was a little small, but the shower was excellent. Wi-Fi was reliable throughout the hotel. Overall, this is a fantastic hotel with great staff, comfortable rooms and an unbeatable location for exploring Paris.

Only a minor point. The lift in the main hotel is very small, which is understandable in a historic central Paris building. We stayed in one of the family rooms in the hotel's annex across the road, and there is no lift there. We were on the third floor, so guests with heavy luggage or mobility issues should be aware. The staff were extremely helpful and carried our bags, but it's worth knowing before you book.

location was great and central, walk to Eiffel tower approx. 35-40 mins, directly by the Jardins and Seine. The room was clean and keys were easy to access with good communication ahead of time from the reception.

as expected the room was likely smaller than advertised for family of three, beds were close to each other, small bathroom etc.
