Lovely hotel

The area and the bar and restaurant

The remote for the tv didnt work so we were given 2 somethings worked on one remote.… some on the other remote also we couldn't turn it off so had to keep turning it off on the floor plug under the table which was very inconvenient to keep getting down on our knees to turn it off when you are in your late 60 s the duty manager knee about the problem because they had to do the same thing last week so why wasnt it sorted?

Wonderful, stay helpful staff!

Helpful staff. Really nice facilities room is very large and very clean had no issues throughout my stay and intending on the stage again when the event takes place next year. I can see why they select this location for the event.

Expected more from my room being as i was charged £50 more

The reception staff were nice the breakfast staff were rude & not attentive at all apart from a dark haired girl on Monday morning

My room was meant to be a superior deluxe / double but it was £50 more for the 2 nights stay than my colleagues standard double (shower wasn’t as good as his/ room wasn’t as nice nor the bed or any of the room in fact my room was smaller,, apparently my view was much nicer (a courtyard 🤷🏼‍♂️) which made it more expensive which is a joke & I won’t be booking anymore superior rooms if that’s how it’s judged

Clean, comfortable and so easy.

The staff were excellent. Extremely friendly and caring towards us arriving late and the restaurant staff were wonderful. All whilst there was a big event at the hotel they never made us feel like we weren’t important enough.

The parking was limited as a result of the event.

Lovely hotel,excellent facilities

Lovely surroundings ,simple book in. The room lovely clean and spacious . I asked for a quiet room ,I’m not sure if this was actioned, but the room I had was so quiet and peaceful There was a private party downstairs and I did not hear a thing. A peaceful night away from home is my reason for staying at a health spa(can I say noisy air con is common in a lot of hotels I have stayed in,this was definitely an exception). All facilities were available as advertised and easily accessible no fuss,no pre booking time slots,just constant access up until 8 pm to pool, jacuzzi, steam room with lockers (take a pound coin or shopping trolley coin) There is a lovely spa room with lots of treatments, this is prebook and chargeable. The breakfast was lovely,lots of choice ,full English,juice,cereal (I had to prepay on arrival for breakfast, as, it was not an option to include on booking .com) All the staff were really helpful and all facilities clearly marked. Bar and restaurant upstairs,I never ate there but meals looked nice, I had a drink at the bar,very comfortable as a solo traveller to sit alone,nice couch to sit on Loved this place and will go back

Bed was comfortable.

The spa was fully booked so you couldn't use the facilities and there was no soap in the rooms. It was a bit too pricey but did not deliver what was expected like spa facilities etc.

Modern, stylish with beautiful central courtyard. Excellent buffet breakfast in spacious dinning room with windows overlooking gardens & surrounding fields. Excellent health club facilities, run by friendly staff.

Don’t stay if you want to risk being kept up all night :(

Lovely staff member who checks us in late in the evening. Room was clean and bed was comfy.

Unfortunately the rooms are paper thin and therefore you can hear everything. Stayed in room 117 and didn’t sleep between 1am - 8am due to pounding from the room upstairs and conversations of people walking past the door. I can appreciate in some way that this isn’t the hotels issue, but if the rooms were a little more padded and sound proof I doubt it would have been a problem.

Dissapointing

Comfy bed

Very noisy! Thin ceilings so could hear people walking around in the room above. Poor doors with gaps underneath, so very poor sound blocking qualities. Other guests were very noisy in the corridor. Therefore, good sleep was hard to come by. In room coffee facilities also poor. Hotel looked tired.

No air con or fan for room and no temp gauge thermostat. One window hinge snapped, a little dated in the room. Toilet paper not the best quality

Pretty bad.

Noise from bedroom above continued all night hence no sleep. No soundproof between rooms and floors. Reception informed during the night and again on checkout. Will not stay there again.

My first choice for this area - will be using it again

The room was very spacious, although the shower itself was quite small. A nice view looking into the garden and the hotel is ideally situated in a leafy Lancashire lane. Although I did not try the gym and spa, while previously living in the area for many years, I was a member for about twenty years and know that it is a high quality and the swimming pool is just lovely. My first return to the area for five years and this hotel was my first choice.

Nothing really. If I was picky I would say that the TV and some of the utilities in the room are a little dated but, compared to the value, this was more than acceptable. The shower is small so a large person might struggle, but the bathroom itself is a reasonable size. Note the whole room was a good size.

We met as an extended family. The weather was awful but we had a great day!

A hotel is an hotel pretty much. It was clean, efficient and absolutely fit for purpose with nice garden and communal spaces. The food was absolutely fine. The exceptional part of our stay was the staff. They were absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble, they were pleasant and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a good time. And we did! Result!! Oh - and it was the best gym we've ever had in an hotel.

Good little hotel.

Good value for money and clean throughout. The bed was comfy, it's not far from Liverpool.

The breakfast was a sight for sore eyes, classic hotel buffet, rushed and unpalatable.

Just what we needed.

Friendly welcome. Lovely twin bedded room. Very clean. Toiletries good. Had nearly everything we needed. Other facilities available but not needed by us. Great place to stay if being admitted to Wrightington Hospital early in the morning. Taxi arrived and the journey didn't take long at all. All stress free.

Ran out of milk to put in drinks very quickly. Luckily we had brought a pint with us. No fridge to keep it chilled though.

Nice place to stay but with some minor issues.

Location is good and it’s the best hotel in the area. The rooms are nice and the beds comfortable.

The sink plug hole was rusty and the shower was really weak with low water pressure. I’ve stayed there for years and the rooms perhaps could do with a mini upgrade especially the bathrooms.

Great hotel. Awful room and awful 2 night stay

Facilities are great, staff are perfect, hotel is immaculate.

My heating was broke. The window was broken so draft coming in. The shower didn’t work correctly, kept cutting out. I think the place was great but everything in my room was awful
