Paratene Ostatu Habitaciones

Paratene Ostatu Habitaciones is a nine minute cab ride to the Bilbao airport. Perfect. Check-in and Check-out is automated. No one is there. Which is fine. There is a well-equipped kitchen. A couple bistros within walking distance. Alex, our host, has his number posted everywhere inviting you to reach out with any problem. The room is clean and comfortable. It was a single, twin bed. The shared bathroom is clean and easily accessible. The place works just find. It is one of the more affordable locations in the area. I found the Habitaciones perfect for myself.

Everything was fine. But be aware. I got there in the evening and needed to book an airport cab for an early morning pickup. Not unusual I would think. It was too late to book the cab online. I had to call. So there was a language barrier for me. Some cab companies did not serve Erandia (only Bilbao). Others needed more time to schedule early morning drivers. So the conversation/language became more complex. There was no one there to help. Book your tax early.

Good location if you need to take a flight early next day (close to the airport).

Check in organised automatically (via check in machine), very time consuming.

Molt pràctic que hi hagués cuina. Pati exterior ampli i agradable. Habitacions i espais comuns nets. Els llits eren grans i nets. Entorn molt tranquil. El sistema per accedir amb targeta o amb codi és pràctic. Tracte i comunicació amb el propietari molt correcte.

Falta una mica de manteniment. Els llits no eren especialment còmodes. El procés de registre una mica llarg i el sistema per escanejar els documents no funcionava massa bé, fins que vam descobrir que havíem de tapar la llum del sol per que funcionés.

My score is a bit skewed because we booked during the eclipse time and therefore the property was much more expensive than usual. I believe in normal times the value for money is decent.

It’s close to the airport so make sure to go to sleep early before the morning flights wake you up prematurely. The property could definitely use another bathroom or at least toilets, because it was impossible to use the toilet in the morning or evening for a long periods of time when someone else is in the shower. The communication with the host was strange because the sent check in info didn’t work so we had to call them anyways, but in the end it worked out fine.
