Hostal Mont Royal

The room was pleasant, not too fancy, but perfectly fine at this price point, and the hotel was at a good location, about 20 minutes from Alicante centre and the San Juan beach via bus. The pool was also a welcomed addition in the summer months. The price was very reasonable, and there were also restaurants on site. The automated check-in after reception hours was very much appreciated, as it enables travellers to arrive at any time for check in. (Multiple languages supported) Overall, I feel lucky that I booked this

We had a basement room, so there wasn't much natural lights. We were bothered by the fact that guests after midnight were incredibly noisy, and had no respect for the others who wanted to sleep. The walls were not soundproof at all.

Wonderful boutique Hotel experience, tastefully decorated, high standards or comfort & cleanliness. Clearly signposted so easy to find, mini market 1 min away, large selection of places to eat. San Juan beach is 10 mins on foot, the neighbourhood is great, very relaxing. Hiking trail around the Cape. Was there in March for some early Spring sunshine. Would stay here again if I was in the area. Competitive price & great beach location.

The hotel is in a quiet residential area though some way from Alicante or local beaches.

No facilities in the room or hotel for making a hot drink.

Front desk attendant was nice upon check-in. The room was under ground and was clean. The decorative theme however was not super appealing. However it might be their intention. (Old French decorations, pictures and art). A chest with mirrors and eyeless masks hung on walls. We were accommodated in two single beds although we are a married couple so not super comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The facilities were kept up. We were given a reccomendarioj to eat a "La Palloza" restaurant which belongs to the same owners and is located right next to the hostal. We were charged twice what we ordered. The prices do not seem reasonable compared to better restaurants in the area. We would suggest not going there. Overall our experience was good and it felt more like a hotel than a hostal.

I developed a really bad headache while asleep which I thought it might have been related to the heater.
