AVOID AT ALL COSTS. HOST SCAMS DEPOSIT FEES. AVOID IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR HOLIDAY RUINED.
Apartment was reasonable near the city center and quiet. Kitchen was large and spacious enough to cook meals.
RED FLAGS.
This booking was made via the booking website. 2 weeks before the stay, booking required me to make full payment for the accommodations to which I very promptly paid before the due date, which was 983 EUROS.
A few days after the cancellation policy had changed to 100% non-refundable, Mr G Wanger, the owner, reached out to ask for a deposit of 1,000 EUROS, a sum that was even more than the cost of the entire stay, and asked for a bank transfer to his account number. In all my years of travel in Europe and through Asia, I have never witness a request like this, where deposit is more than total accommodation AND an insistence for payment to be transferred to a private bank account.
I voiced my concerns and there was some back and forth exchanges - requesting for more explanation of the charges etc to which I was told, if I did not make payment, "ENTRY WILL BE REFUSED". I had no choice, and was held ransom to the already paid accommodations and decided to the trust the owner, and make payment.
On the end of the stay (21st Feb), the owner reached out to say that deposit will be refunded once there was any claims to the tenancy - this was fair and we accepted this. 3 days later, I reached out to ask for a timeline on when perhaps he would expect the deposit to be refunded and he started giving all kinds of excuses, saying booking com has not paid him yet and he cannot refund the deposit.
After a couple of rounds of messages, he agreed to refund the deposit. HOWEVER, this is when it gets interesting. He was firstly not able to proceed with a bank transfer because he did not know how to do it (my bank does not have a IBAN number and he did not request for a SWIFT code) and decided he would refund it via paypal. Nevermind that he passed on the cost of the transfer to me of 56 EUROS but decided that because of my hesitance in handing over 1,000 EUROS deposit, he charged me 100 EUROS processing fee for this booking and has since REFUSED to reply.

Uriges Ferienhaus in hervorragender Lage
Diese urige und gemütliche Ferienwohnung ist die perfekte Ausgangsbasis für alle, die das Ötztal in Ruhe erkunden möchten. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet – selbst für aufwendige Menüs! Ein großes Plus ist, dass auf unser Feedback mit einem ausreichend großen Kühlschrank eingegangen wurde, was für einen tollen Service und Interrsse an Feedback spricht.
Die Kommunikation bezüglich nicht vorhandener Handtücher (nur in der "Hygienekonzept"-Datei erwähnt) könnte klarer und direkter sein.
Und Achtung Großgewachsene: An mehreren Stellen muss der Kopf eingezogen werden.

Grand gîte spacieux et bien équipé (lave linge compris), dans une maison ancienne. Beaucoup d'espaces et de pièces, beaucoup d'équipements, comme une maison familiale !
Il peut arriver qu'on se cogne un peu la tête aux portes (j'ai le défaut d'être assez grand), et l'escalier pour accéder à l'étage est un peu étroit... maison ancienne oblige, ça fait partie du charme tyrolien !
