The Blacksmith's Shop

The Blacksmith’s Shop is an exceptional place to stay on the outskirts of beautiful Port Isaac. Well worthy of its high grading this quirky building has retained many features from times past but also cleverly incorporated all the modern appliances and facilities expected in a top quality rental . We particularly enjoyed the amazing views of the surrounding countryside and eating and relaxing in the cottage garden under the shade of the apple trees during an intense heatwave . Excellent communication with our host and helpful advice. Lots to do in the area. We loved the Doc Martin walking tour -available 12 noon each day with tickets £12.50 from Harbour Treats shop. One day we drove across to Rock and took the ferry to Padstow ; another we drove to St Michael’s Mount and St Ives. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location just outside Port Isaac. Parking space a few metres away. Excellent kitchen facilities. Comfortable lounge. Bedroom in the roof space with great views out of windows. Rock not far away for the ferry across to Padstow. Farm shop nearby. We, also, went to the Royal Cornwall show.

It’s a quirky property with everything you would need. Be aware the bedroom is the roof space with a beam running under the bed. If you are tall beware of the roof height. Having said, I love the cottage.
