The location was unbeatable — we could walk everywhere in Florence. The air conditioning was excellent (a lifesaver in the June heat) and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Our host was extremely communicative, responsive, and helpful — he booked us a taxi to the train station, check-in was easy, and he even let us store our bags at his store down the road until the apartment was ready. Overall a clean, comfortable home base for our four-night stay.
A few small things would take this from a 7 to a 9: we were only given one towel per person for four nights, which gets old fast when you're showering multiple times a day in the summer heat. There's also no shelf or ledge in the shower for toiletries — a minor thing, but in a small bathroom, even one little ledge would make a world of difference. Note it's a walk-up, but that's not a big deal if you know going in.

Spacious, clean, great kitchen, bathroom and living room.
The bathroom door didn’t lock and there was no shower gel, only bars of soap.
