A charming apartment, great location, let down by lack of essentials and problematic payment process

The location of the apartment is excellent – on a quiet street with pleasant surroundings. It’s away from the city center, yet still within walking distance. The house itself is cozy, and the garden is charming and well-kept. We truly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and being close to nature.

However, the stay had some downsides. Basic supplies (garbage bags, toilet paper, soap, paper towels etc.) were provided in very small amounts and not enough at all for our 8-night stay. (Even after the cleaner came midway through, only a minimal restock was provided). As a result, we had to purchase essentials ourselves, which was inconvenient. These may seem like small things, but they make a big difference in comfort and convenience. It felt unnecessary and frustrating that the host was cutting back on such basic items. The bathroom ventilation also did not work, and my message about it was never answered. The most serious issue was with the payment process. Before our arrival, the host requested payment via bank transfer rather than through the Booking system. Since no other option was offered, I agreed, but this caused significant problems. My bank flagged the transfer as suspicious, froze my account, and the host later claimed to have received less than the full amount due to transfer fees. Although I had paid the exact amount, I was asked to cover the difference and ended up leaving an additional 50 euros in the apartment. This situation was stressful, unfair, and would certainly have influenced my decision to book had I known in advance.

Some dishes and mugs were not washed and had been put into the cupboards… that wasn’t nice… it made us wonder if the rest hadn’t been cleaned either… cleanliness should be reconsidered. There was also no broom or robot vacuum to clean up the dirt in the kitchen and hallway..

Good proximity to local attractions, easy to find, easy to access. Good size rooms, comfortable seating, parking, close to amenities.clean, towels provided.

Somewhat Breach of privacy- caretaker surveying the windows from across the road. Cleaners working while property is occupied and before guests departed No welcome hamper for visitors.
