Very nice practical little hotel, not the most comfy

Cosy and quaint little hotel in the centre of a small countryside town. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the family room with bunk beds was spotlessly clean and quite spacious, the bathroom was also very roomy. The pillows were fluffy and bed linen was of good quality. Breakfast was good, as well as the food at the restaurant which was well prepared.

I am admittedly a big and tall guy but the double bed did seem to creak more than it should, and it felt quite constrained with the mattress embedded within the frame. Not the most comfortable bed overall. The family room at the very top of the property tends to heat up quite a lot in the middle of the night, even it seems in mid-season. The staff were kind enough however to leave a fan at our disposal without us even asking. Restaurant menu was entirely in German and there was a waitress who did not seem to have much patience for offering even the most basic run through of the menu, despite having a good level of English. A bit of a pity.

A nice quiet place.

Average restaurant. Fake attitude to the customer. Is more important thier friends than customers. They are confusing customers woth friend. You can feel not very comfortable. But maybe only because we where there for Easter. We were forced to eat quickly and the waiters told us...you know at 10 to 9 (8.50) you need to free up the breakfast space as we have friends coming. Not a very productive speech.

We came to Europe Park etc and the location was excellent. The staff were very nice. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant was very good for dinner. It was a local hotel as we wished for.

Our family cannot recommend this Hotel highly enough

We stayed here as a family of 4 and we all very much enjoyed our short stay at Hotel Sonne in Mahlberg. A lovely peaceful village and a real gem of a hotel. The staff were so friendly and the food was so wonderful. The rooms had everything we needed and at such a fantastic value for money. We have travelled extensively throughout Europe by car for many years staying at hotels at all price levels and this Gasthof is very close to the top of our list. The evening dinner was superb and probably the best breakfast ever in the morning. Excellent location for a visit to Europa Park or Funny World or as a gateway to the Black Forest.

Marvelous

Wonderful hotel and fantastic welcome, the rooms were really comfortable but the thing that struck me most are the coffee machine and the three complimentary capsules (additional capsules are € 0.60 each, a ridiculous price and, I would say , justified), among other things we slept really well and the hotel is only 12 minutes from the Europa-Park, highly recommended, definitely we will be back soon

It was a dissapointment.

The breakfast.

We booked a room for two adults and two young kids. This seemed a good option for a quick stopover on our way from Italy to the Netherlands, cause located close to the highway. Somehow the beds for the kids didn't come through the booking (this happened before the owner admitted), So when we arrived after long travel at 23:00 we were in a room without blankets/beds for kids. Luckily there was a bunkbed inside but no blankets. We contacted the owner but it was shared that at that time there were no possible solutions. We had to solve it our selves and we were called liars. Apperently there had been soms kind of miscommunication through the booking app. We expected cooperative help from the hotel but this was very dissapointing. Kids stayed in our bed and we tried to sleep. The bathroom stank like fungus. During the night every 15min or every hour the church next door was ringing very long loud bell songs. This was terrible and made sleeping difficult. Next morning we saw the owner, he was very friendly. The breakfast was good. But we will never come again.

Fijn appartement met handige kitchenette. We konden gebruikmaken van het restaurant en dat in ons appartement eten, dat was voor ons een uitkomst. Het restaurant zelf is overigens ook erg leuk ingericht. Vriendelijk en meedenkend personeel. En top ontbijt ook!

Ontvangst was een beetje gek met iemand die onhartelijk de deur opendeed, wees naar een envelopje en de deur gelijk weer dicht deed. Bleek dat het hotel personeel overdag niet werkt, maar het hotel is ook niet bereikbaar. Dat is wat onhandig. Ook zijn er allerlei verschillende prijzen voor hetzelfde ontbijt.

War in Ordnung

Leider war in der Zeit unseres Aufenthalts kein Koch, bzw. Personal für das Lokal da. War Urlaubszeit. Das ist zwar in Ordnung, hätte aber auch mitgeteilt werden können, da wir eigentlich dort öfters essen wollten.

Tranquillité et qualité: satisfaction complète!

Nous voulions passer deux nuits pour nous permettre de passer une pleine journée à Europa park voisin, mais ailleurs que dans les hôtels du park pour découvrir une partie plus "authentique" au sens "ordinaire" de la région. Pour le peu de temps que nous y avons passé, le centre de Malberg nous a paru très agréable! Mais la palme du confort de notre séjour revient au personnel (de la demeure entreprise familiale, si je ne me trompe pas): le propriétaire est d'une courtoisie exceptionnelle, et les employés ont été à nos petits soins. Un véritable plaisir!

Værelset til en familie på 5 prs. var godt.

Service, støj, parkering, lukket reception og restaurant da vi ankom grundet byfest. Vi havde glædet os og valgt stedet fordi vi synes det var en hyggelig by, restaurant på hotellet samt Parkering. Vi ankom efter at have kørt tolv timer, og grundet byfest var byen spærret af, så vi måtte parkere et godt stykke derfra og gå med vores bagage, restauranten og reception var lukket, men fandt en kuvert med navn på så vi kunne komme til værelset. Men med livemusik 2 meter fra døren, og generelt festlig stemning i gaden var der ikke meget ro. Wifi virkede heller ikke. Det er super med en byfest, men det er ikke lige det man ønsker i vores situation. Jeg er meget utilfreds med at vi ikke på forhånd bliver gjort opmærksom på de forhold. Vi har betalt ca. 300 euro denne overnatning, det er under alt kritik og virkelig dårlig service. Havde vi vidst, vi ikke kunne parkere og det vart meget støj, og ikke kunne få mad, havde vi ikke booket det.
