Château Monfort - Relais & Châteaux

Beautiful building. Great staff.

Bedroom and bathroom, particularly sink area were too small. Felt like handicapped room.

I stayed at this hotel twice. The first time was in early May with my fiancée, when we explored the châteaux of the Loire Valley. A month later I came back with my parents, wanting to show them the châteaux too, but above all to relax at this hotel again. I travel a great deal, and it's rare to come across this level of attention to detail. The pool was at a perfect temperature, the spa showers used eucalyptus-infused water, and the steam sauna had a wonderful hint of mint in the air. The towels were incredibly soft, and the rooms were beautifully designed and stylish. The food was fantastic overall — the only thing I'd suggest is offering a lighter option alongside the set dinner menu, as it was quite heavy some evenings. Since I stayed for several days, it was also nice to venture out and try dinner elsewhere a couple of times. All in all, this is a truly exceptional hotel, and I always recommend it to friends. When I think of a hotel as an experience rather than just a place to stay, this is the first one that comes to mind — and I've visited a great many. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner during my stay, and it's clearly thanks to her hands-on care that everything runs so beautifully

Both the lobby/common areas and rooms were beautifully decorated. The hotel is a bit away from the tourist attractions but was very convenient to the metro and a better price/value than luxury hotels in the very center.

We arrived before check in and they held our luggage until the rooms were ready. When we returned they said the luggage was already in the rooms, but when we went upstairs it wasn't. They did not seem to appreciate at first how concerned we were about them having misplaced all of our bags! Other issues: the breakfast was a bit crowded and the open glass shower in the middle of the room didn't allow for much privacy.

Everything, elegantly classy, accommodating. Breakfast was exceptional, so facilities were fantastic. Room was beautiful and comfortable. Staff were exemplary professionals
