Solar do Carvalho

The place is great and well equipped. I have never experienced such a warm welcome and hospitality. Our room was cleaned every single day, and it looked way beyond our expectations. Breakfast was really good (it included bread, ham, cheese, coffee, tea, cereals, milk, fruits, eggs, some cake, sweets, jam and many many other things) and was always super fresh! The localisation is in the middle of island so to each point you have pretty much same time of travel (usually it took us 45min to travel to most common hikes and areas). Anyway, highly recommend the place to everyone, never thought someone would be so kind and careful when booking a place via booking.com :)

Very clean place, there was not an single dust to be found anywhere. There was always parking space available in the property. Everything was really good.

Breakfast was strange, the host leaves ham, cheese in the fridge, and if you want you just take it, also the raw eggs were left and you have to cook them yourself, I never saw such breakfast in my traveling of 20 years. When you are cooking the eggs in shared kitchen, other people who stay there also comes and cooks the eggs near you.. That was super strange concept of breakfast. I saw other comments also about this, but did not think about this. We found one morning last 4 eggs, we cooked them and other couple came, found no eggs, had to eat just bread and butter, later they just bought eggs and keept them in the fridge. This concept was strange.

Top experience, the owner received very well. Very good breakfast, very silent place, highly cleaned. Near São Vicente! Very happy stay in Solar do Carvalho. Waking up with birds singing is the summary of the stay.

very clean, large and comfortable room, good breakfast and the host, Helena is very friendly and helpful. we could even do our laundry!

we like to cook and the communal kitchen wasn’t the best solution for us. The breakfast was good but one doesn’t have to come to late since it is shared with all the other guests.
