The place is located perfectly, centrally located allowing you to access any parts of the island in the most efficient way. It is quiet, peaceful, and scenic. Helena, the host, thought of everything to make our stay relaxing, comfortable and memorable. Morning coffees with the sunlight skimming the top of the mountains, easy breakfast with eggs, meat, cheese, bread, quiet evenings on the balcony while enjoying a nice beverage on your balcony before a restful night in a spacious room. We couldn't have asked for more. And if you need suggestions for nice restaurants she has a wonderful place to suggest. We strongly recommend stopping and staying at Solar do Carvalho. Thank you for making our trip to Madeira so memorable!

It wasn’t easy to find out the timetable and the stops of the the public transport. The digital access of this information should improve

very clean, large and comfortable room, good breakfast and the host, Helena is very friendly and helpful. we could even do our laundry!
we like to cook and the communal kitchen wasn’t the best solution for us. The breakfast was good but one doesn’t have to come to late since it is shared with all the other guests.
