Hotel Klara

Ubytovanie prekonalo očakávanie v pomere cena/výkon. Vybavenie hotela si už niečo pamätá ale zato izba aj kúpeľňa boli veľmi čisté a voňavé. Milý pán na recepcii nás ubytoval ešte pred 14:00 a v ten deň pršalo, bolo chladno, čo nám prišlo veľmi vhod keďže izba bola príjemne vykúrená. Raňajky zodpovedali cene, trochu skromnejšie ale najesť sa dá do sýta. Hneď za rohom je zastávka električky. Tiež hodnotíme pozitívne možnosť uschovať batožinu v deň odchodu aj do neskorších večerných hodín. Za nás spokojnosť a hotel Klára by sme zvolili znova.

First thing upon arrival, is they insist on wanting cash in Euro's. Can't process a card, so can't get Euro's at a local atm, so they then use a weird exchange rate which ends up much higher in Czk. (Worked a little in my favour, as paid as I left, and miraculously they suddenly could take a card???) That is when the alarm bells should have sounded. The "all rooms access from lift" is sort of true, but the lift stops between floors, so up or down, there will always be a staircase to drag your suitcases up or down. The room was very old, tired and worn, as was everything in it. The shower was a hand held unit, with no wall fixture to hang it on, to actually have a shower. All in all, way below normal standard, and personally, I would rate it as a medium 2 star if that. Have no idea how they got an 8.1 rating and 3 stars. I stayed 2 nights, was forced to pay a 3rd night to cancel, but took the loss and booked into another hotel for a cheaper nightly rate, Hotel Duo, 4 stars, and genuine star rating and revue rating. So fortunately, my Prague holiday was not a total loss. Perhaps Europeans don't expect much for accommodation, but if you are a westerner, I would advise staying well clear and look elsewhere, preferably minimum of 4 star rating.
