Ginka

Incredible views, delicious food, and helpful staff. Beautiful shared onsen, but the shower and bath in the room was also terrific. A staff member was up front as soon as we arrived to valet our car and check in was seamless. The grounds are well-maintained and the location was a bit remote, so it offered quiet and tranquility. A great place for adults.

I wish it had a cold plunge, but that’s just a personal preference

The intricacy and quality of the food(breakfast and dinner) is outstanding(no where else we stayed is at this level)!!! The river view is serene. We also enjoyed the outdoor onsen where we can breathe fresh air, and one night I even spotted a pair of deer roaming round the river bank. We experienced the top traditional Japanese hospitality by their extremely friendly staff and the facility provided is so thoughtful in every aspect.

From the moment we were picked up at the train station till we were delivered back there all the staff were so attentive and went out of there way to help us. The food was worthy of any michelen star restaurant any where. The rooms were spacious and spotless. The onsen were very well appointed and there was even 2 private onsen to choose from. The location was excellent, by the river with beautiful views of the mountains, it was just out of town but this did not factor due to the availability of frequent shuttles.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike or dampen our experience here.

Everything about Ginka is perfect. From the pick up at Kinosakionsen, seeing the location of the hotel on the other side of the river, to the warm welcome. The location is just perfect and the accommodation is just so nice. We booked to go into Kinosaki after dinner but having seen our room immediately cancelled to spend the evening at the hotel. We had a 1st floor room with Japanese sleeping (they make up the futons during dinner), which were very comfortable. Sitting in the room looking out over the river at sunset, drink in hand and watching the fish jump was sublime. Then we went for dinner. They described it as a dinner ceremony and it was. Delicious food served with such grace. Breakfast was an equally good experience. And lying in the cedar bath before breakfast looking out over the river was also a delight. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, and unlike some other hotels the photos and description exactly matches what we had We had stayed in Tokyo before coming to Ginka and the whole journey was wonderful, the train from Kyoto to Kinsosaki so comfortable and scenic - it was great to see so much of the Japanese countryside
