Great location but expensive and not always helpful

Only here for one night on the E5 but would love to stay again sometime.

Very welcoming, all staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Lovely room and sauna, ski/boot room with drying facilities, relaxed atmosphere and stunning location.

Was not obvious where the entrance was when approaching from the village after a long hike - found it after going up the wrong set of stairs. Not a big deal though.

A beautiful hotel with lovely people that's one step away from perfection.

Overall, the hotel is excellent. The location is nice and quiet, with no traffic. The hosts and staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The bathroom was terrific, with lots of space and fixtures that work perfectly. Dinner and breakfast were both outstanding.

This would have been a 10/10 rating, except for one major flaw. The bed was not comfortable at all. The mattress was old and saggy. Instead of lying on a nice mattress for a good sleep, it felt like I was lying in the depression made by thousands of guests before me. Sorry, but a comfortable bed is the single most important feature of a hotel room, so I had to knock 2 points off the rating for this.

Beautiful Views and Friendly Service!

The hotel is run by a family which will make you feel at home without making you feel you are in their space. The hotel is a beautiful typical Austrian hotel with amazing views of the mountains surrounding it. The hotel is right at the start of basically every mountain trail from Vent. The breakfast is great, the service is great, the rooms are spacious and the dinner is as always in Austria great as well!

The soundproofing could be better and the beds are a bit older, nothing to worry about, but as a small point of feedback.

Six out of five stars!

From the moment we pulled up to the hotel we were greeted by the warm and friendly staff, the actual family who runs this fine establishment. We felt as though we were being welcomed into their home - a wonderful treat after a long day of driving alpine roads! We elected to have both the dinner and breakfast options and were not disappointed! Dinner was consistently presented every night as a high quality five-course gourmet delight. Breakfast was a plethora of buffet items and eggs cooked the way we liked them. Our suite was fantastic - generously sized and appointed. The hotel boasts a fantastic sauna, steam room and wellness area. The hotel location was the best in the village, literally at the trailheads! If you do not stay here while in Vent, you are really missing out on not just a stay in the Ötzal Alps, but a true Tyrolean experience.

Just take the detour and get amazed.

The location was fine. Vent, the village where the hotel is located, is one of those placed you really need to want to go to, either for skiing, mountain biking, or wandering. Or...as in my case, out of nostalgia. Vent is where I learned to ski, 48 years ago. The trip down memory lane worked out very well and was well worth the climb by car to this "in the middle of nowhere", beautiful spot The hotel is an amazing piece of Hospitality Business engineering. It is not the cosiest place I have aver been to, nor the chiquest, but in some enchanted way it provides for everything, and exactly at the instant you need it. Rooms are spacious, and amongst the cleanest I have experienced in my life. Need to check in? The lovely owner is at the desk. Passing through the reception area with no specific purpose? Nobody to see. Need to check out? Here's the owner's beautiful daughter to help you. Don't know how they do it - normally, this kind of invisible service is a specialty of three Michelin star restaurants. Speaking of restaurants - we only stayed one night and only had breakfast. Buffet breakfast with EVERYTHING you need. No fringes, no bells and whistles, just lovely bread, exactly right choice of mueslis, juices, cheese, sweet stuff and meat cuts. Wonderful service, exactly what one would hope for in a quiet little town, almost forgotten in the mountains, where the loudest sound is that of the river flowing through it, not counting the odd cow bell from the farm, located in the center.

The shared balcony without privacy separators is something I still have a hard time getting used to. Maybe I am getting old.

Breakfast was great. Dinner was astonishing, have never regretted that paid extra for it! Hotel's sauna is also top quality! Design and small eye-catching things give an additional impression. We enjoyed our stay so much, definitely, Hotel Similaun is recommended to visit.

Soap dispenser in a room was broken, not really a problem.

Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Ich habe mich rundum gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt für Spaziergänge & Wanderungen in der wunderschönen Umgebung. Die Bushaltestelle befindet sich direkt vor dem Haus.

Alles war hervorragend.

Wir würden sehr herzlich von der Rezeption empfangen. Der Wellness Bereich wurde für uns vorbereitet und ist sehr großzügig und neu. Wir konnten uns nach mehreren Etappen auf dem E5 erholen. 😊 Das Abendessen und Frühstück war sehr gut. Wir haben uns im Hotel Similaun sehr wohl gefühlt!
