From the moment we arrived, we were completely charmed. The décor throughout is absolutely gorgeous—thoughtfully styled and beautifully maintained, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. The location couldn’t be better either, perfectly central and ideal for exploring.
Peter and Helen are truly phenomenal hosts. Their passion for running a B&B shines through in every detail. They’re fun, friendly, and genuinely interested in making your stay memorable—it feels so personal and effortless.
The little touches really set this place apart: freshly baked cookies waiting in the room alongside the coffee station, and delicious homemade cakes available in the communal areas for guests to enjoy. There’s also a well-stocked honesty bar with a fantastic selection.
Breakfast was outstanding—cooked to perfection using top-quality ingredients. It’s clear that no expense is spared, and they go above and beyond to cater to individual preferences with ease.

Everything about the stay was fantastic. Pete and Helen were lovely and so welcoming from even before I arrived, they offered to pick me up from the train station. The Somerville is beautifully decorated, comfortable and has everything you would need to make a stay relaxing and enjoyable.
Breakfast was fantastic and comprehensive and topped off with a ride back to the station when there were no taxi's available. Outstanding service!
Nothing (well perhaps the hill you need to walk up to get there by foot! :))
