1st Class and Exceptional

Room was Immaculate,had everything we needed and more,Peter and Helen were fantastic Hosts with great little touches like Cake for us Guests and Peter liked to have banter and his hosting at Breakfast was 1st Class.Breakfast was great and nothing was too much trouble,Peter even gave me his Ferry Card for Dartmouth to allow me a discount which was very well appreciated.

A home away from home in our opinion

I have stayed here before and I returned back because, The rooms are well furnished and clean with nice little touches that are really lovely. The food at breakfast is exceptional and the quality is to a very high standard. The hosts are extremely nice people who could not be more helpful. We were due to arrive during a storm in the southwest and Peter sent me a message saying that certain roads were closed. Now that is really going the extra mile in my opinion.

Perfect weekend getaway.

We had the garden room- spacious, own entrance onto the garden,comfy bed, new bathroom. Warm. Great lounge area and breakfast room. Fantastic breakfast. Fresh cakes each afternoon. Free off road parking. Great location with many restaurants a short walk away- Peter provided lots of restaurant recommendations and walks nearby.

Beautiful stay

Loved Everything - from the minute we arrived to the minute we left our stay was exceptional. Room was stunning - the little extras...robes.. fresh milk in the fridge for Tea and coffee.. outstanding breakfast just added to our overall experience. We will 100% visit again. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Quick stay of luxury, needed more time there!

Everything! The welcome was warm, the room was beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding. We were only there for 1 night, but I found myself feeling a little jealous of another couple talking to the owner at breakfast about how their week in Torquay had been! We will definitely be back

The location was just perfect for going into Torquay. Breakfast was fantastic plenty to choose from and good quality. The owners were really helpful and i would stay here again, a fantastic place and i have recommended it to friends and family.

Excellent stay in Torquay

Peter and Helen were extremely friendly and accommodating. Room was excellent in size, comfort and cleanliness. Couldn't really fault the room at all. Location is excellent with a short walk to superb eateries, bars and the harbour. Breakfast was excellent with a huge selection of pastries, fruits, cereals, yogurts, fresh honey and more along with an excellent cooked breakfast. Peter, Helen and staff were amazing hosts in the morning and nothing was too much trouble. All in all, if I was to visit Torquay again I would definitely check here first for availability especially as a couple.

The most perfect place to stay in Torquay

This place is exceptional, above & beyond our expectations. Peter & Helen were the most delightful hosts . Breakfast was the best we’ve ever had & nothing to much trouble. Always there for local knowledge & best places to go . We have been to Torquay several times& when we go back we will be booking at this great find .

Very enjoyable stay in an excellent place. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Torquay.

We booked based on the reviews and were not disappointed. Room was excellent, comfortable bed and seating area to relax. En-suite was spotless and well equipped with modern facilities. Location of the property was perfect just a stroll from the harbour and all the local restaurants. Private secure parking. Excellent breakfast, a great choice of continental with fruit pastries etc. with cooked options to order made to perfection. In addition, the dining room was spacious and with lovely views of the bay. Great hosting from Peter with plenty of great advice and recommendations on things to do and see during our stay. A bonus was the home made cakes baked daily by Helen which were delicious.

In all honesty there wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

Location, cleanliness, comfort, friendliness of Peter & Helen - nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was so lovely, everything fresh and lots of homemade items which were excellent, including Helen’s delicious cakes which we enjoyed in the lovely garden. Peter & Helen are excellent hosts and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. We would highly recommend a visit to The Somerville.
