Philoxenia - auf der grünsten Insel Griechenlands im Ionischen Meer

"Philoxenia" bedeutet: „Gastfreundschaft“ Der Name von diesem Hotel, welches von einer Familie geführt wird, ist von Anfang an Programm. Das Hotel liegt an einer malerischen Bucht, fast am Ende der Straße zu dem Ort Ermones. Es gibt dort sehr wenig Verkehr. Das Hotel verfügt über einen Parkplatz hinter dem Haus, wo die Autos der Hotelgäste Platz haben. Vom Hotel hat man einen schönen Blick über die Bucht auf das Ionische Meer und am Abend geht die Sonne oft mit ganz großem Kino im Meer unter. Das Hotel ist sehr schön eingerichtet. Unser Hotelzimmer und das Badezimmer waren blitzsauber. Ich habe noch nie so einen erstklassigen Room-Service erlebt. Auch wenn man mal später das Hotelzimmer verlassen hat, die Betten und das Zimmer waren bei unserer Rückkehr immer schön gemacht. Am Morgen wird man mit einem sehr abwechslungsreichen Frühstück begrüßt. Die Basis bildet ein Buffet mit vielen leckeren Sachen. Herzhaft oder süß, alles ist dabei. Ich habe mich immer für das „Englisch Breakfast“ entschieden 😊, und mochte es sehr (ist doch schließlich Urlaub!). Am Nachmittag kann man Kaffee oder Tee am Pool einnehmen – wir waren da meisten unterwegs. Am Hotel ist eine eigene Taverne angeschlossen, das Essen dort ist empfehlenswert. Die Familie und das Personal sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Gesprochen wird außer Griechisch meistens Englisch. Viele vom Personal sprechen aber auch gut Deutsch. Sie stehen mit Rat und Tat bereit und tun alles dafür, dass die Gäste sich wohlfühlen. Am Strand in der Bucht kann man gut baden oder von dort aus schöne Wanderungen unternehmen. Bei unserer Rundreise haben wir uns oft zum Baden auch andere Stände gesucht. Empfehlenswert ist in der Nähe der Strand Pelekas-Beach.

Relaxing and exactly what we needed.

The hotel staff at the hotel were brilliant there was nothing they could not help with. The breakfast was amazing and we booked excursions they put on earlier breakfast so we could eat before we left. Mr T took us to the pick up point and waited to make sure we got on the right bus. The view was stunning and the beach was a short walk downhill. The hotel restaurant had a excellent menu and the food was delicious the staff were very accommodating with allergies etc and adjusted meals on request. This is a family run setup which makes it even more special.

The hotel was brilliant and all they offer the only draw back it how remote it is. The restaurant was excellent and there was local green bus stop that took us into Corfu town.

Frühstück mit vielen griechischen Leckereien, ruhige Lage, die vielleicht für einige zu ruhig ist. Am Strand gibt es eine Taverne, ebenso bietet das Hotel Abendessenmöglichkeit an. Koffer können aufbewahrt werden, so das man auch nach Check-out noch Strand und Pool nutzen kann. Unglaublich hilfsbereite und freundliche Hotelinhaber. Bushaltestelle ist in der Nähe, es gibt mehrmals täglich Busverbindungen (Anfang Oktober), die zwischen 30-60 Minuten verkehren (auf den Fahrplan achten)

We had a really pleasant stay at Corfu Philoxenia Hotel. The setting was peaceful, and the views over the olive tree-covered hills out to the ocean added a lovely sense of calm to our days. The pool was a great spot to unwind, and the cocktails served poolside were a nice treat. It’s a place that’s clearly looked after with pride, and we appreciated the relaxed atmosphere throughout our stay.

Nice hotel, beautiful beach

The place is clean, mosquito nets on all windows and doors, and the staff is always friendly and supportive. The breakfast is good. Our room had a great view. The beach is not crowded.

I have nothing that I didn't like to say about the property, but the surrounding streets and the beach are full of litter. Apparently, the government and the businesses—including the five-star hotel by the beach—don’t care about regularly taking care of the garbage, and they don't even provide trash cans for visitors. My partner and I woke up earlier on our last day to gather what we could find. The situation of stray cats is also saddening.

Almost a perfect stay!

Staff was amazing. Kind, professional, polite, any good adjective you can think of. Always available. Room was clean, beds were big and comfortable, so were the pillows. Outside glass doors had anti-insect net so we didn't have trouble with those. AC worked perfectly. Balcony was cute. Breakfast was PERFECT. Choice of food for lunch/dinner was huge with reasonable prices. Area was chill, close to the beach, to the market. Also area around the pool was probably a highlight; good cocktails. Parking was easy to find.

Shower(/bathtub) was a bit narrow, would've liked it a little bit more if it was bigger. Doors were a bit thin so you could hear noise from the hallway if someone was talking. Sides of the pool needed deeper cleaning and pool bar stools needed to be replaced. A bit of nitpicking: the fridge was small for our taste (large water bottle didn't fit).

Kennen Sie das geflügelte Wort: „Gekommen als Gäste – gegangen als Freunde“ …? So war es bei uns nach 11 Tagen im „Philoxenia“, dem gastfreundlichsten Hotel, das wir auf Korfu kennengelernt haben – und es war immerhin schon unser fünfter Aufenthalt auf dieser unserer Lieblingsinsel. Wo soll man beginnen, alles aufzuzählen, was zum absoluten Wohlfühlen beigetragen hat? Angefangen vom Frühstücksbuffet, das keine Wünsche offenließ, mit den wundervollen hausgemachten Feta- und Spinattaschen und den unzähligen süßen Köstlichkeiten (selbstgemachte Marmeladen, Kuchen, Gebäck, Kekse) über das herrliche Relaxen beim Pool bei sehr angenehmer, hervorragend zusammengestellter Hintergrundmusik, Schwimmen in stets sauberem, ideal temperiertem Wasser, köstlichem Mittagessen im Schatten jahrhundertealter Eichenbäume und natürlich Takis‘ weltbesten Mojitos bis hin zum Genießen des Sonnenuntergangs über dem Meer vom Balkon unseres top ausgestatteten, täglich blitzsauber gereinigten Zimmers … und das wäre nur der Beginn einer langen Liste. Das außergewöhnlichste jedoch sind die Menschen, die hinter alldem stehen: die ganze große, wahrhaftig gast-freundliche „Philoxenia“-Familie und allen voran Takis, der quasi rund um die Uhr mit Charme, Humor, großem Wissen und Organisationstalent und mit ganz viel Herzblut für das Wohl seiner Gäste sorgt, von denen viele schon zu Freunden geworden sind. Wir sind jedenfalls wehmütig heimgeflogen und freuen uns jetzt schon aufs Wiederkommen – beim nächsten Mal sicherlich mit unseren Töchtern, denen wir so viel vorgeschwärmt haben, dass sie es gar nicht erwarten können …

Wonderful Stay at Philoxenia Hotel!

We had a fantastic experience at Philoxenia Hotel! The location was perfect – just a short walk from a beautiful beach with stunning sunsets every evening. It was the ideal place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with anything we needed. One of the highlights of our stay was taking part in one of the excursions organized by the hotel. We joined a trip to the nearby islands of Paxos and Antipaxos, and it was absolutely amazing – crystal-clear waters, charming scenery, and unforgettable memories. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Best Hotel on Corfu!

We loved everything from the first minute to the last moment. Once you arrive and get a feeling for the place, you immediately feel at home. Everyone in the staff team is amazingly friendly and welcoming and creates an atmosphere you will not have anywhere else. Our room had everything we could ask for and we felt very comfortable staying in it for our week at Philoxenia. The view from the balcony stands out and we highly recommend getting the sea view room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was always prepared fresh and you could feel the love and energy put into any meal. This is the place to stay when you think about vacation on Corfu. It has everything you need and more and will give you the same. Thanks to Taki and the whole family for welcoming us to your beautiful home and making our vacation better than we could only imagine! Soggiorno fantastico a Philoxenia

Colazione abbondante e varia sia dolce che salato. Caffè espresso da 1 a 10 diciamo 7.. Avevamo la camera con terrazzo e vista mare eccezionale tutto. La piscina capiente e ben pulita, zona relax con ottimo solarium. Lo staff gentilissimo e solerte nel soddisfare le varie esigenze. Buono il mojito. A 5 minuti a piedi dalla bella spiaggia di Ermones.

Un petit endroit de paradis sur Corfou ! Nous avons passé un incroyable séjour d'une semaine à l'hôtel Philoxenia. Tout était parfait, la vue sur la mer depuis la chambre, le restaurant vue sur mer et coucher de soleil servant de très bonnes spécialités grecques, le petit déjeuner, et sans oublier la piscine où il est possible de déguster les pieds dans l'eau les délicieux mojitos de Mr. Takis ! L'hôtel est également très bien situé, à 30 minutes de la ville de Corfou en voiture, et à distance des endroits très touristiques de l'île, ce qui rend le lieu très calme et paisible. Nous recommandons vivement cet hôtel pour vos vacances à Corfou !

אין קומקום בחדר - מבחינתנו זה מינוס גדול.המיטות לא היו לנו נוחות.בחדר מתחת לחדר אוכל הרעש היה מתחיל מוקדם,עם ההתארגנות לארוחה וזה ממש הפריעה לנו לישון.מקלחות ישנות ,חייבים לחדש אותן.באיזור של המלון חוץ מהים והטברנה אין כלום.כדי להעביר את הזמן חייבים לנסוע.קחו בחשבון שאם אתם מתארחים במלון - חייבים רכב.

Très bel hôtel pour un séjour reposant

Bel hôtel, personnels très agréable. Petit déjeuner diversifié et trés bon. Très belle piscine, avec une vue incroyable sur les alentours et la mer (les mojitos préparés dans le bar de la piscine étaient délicieux). La chambre était très correcte, avec ménage quotidien et bonne literie. Vue mer. L’emplacement proche d’une petite plage et la tranquillité du lieu. Tous les restaurants étaient bons (hôtel, celui sur la plage et la pizzeria COUP DE CŒUR). L’excursion d’une journée à Paxos et Antipaxos (+ les caves bleus) était un très bon moment. Il faut compter 1h30 de car + 3h de bateau aller, et équivalent pour le retour… Moyen de locomotion indispensable, mais vous trouverez un loueur à Ermones, très sympathique et arrangeant. Bon prix pour une journée (carte de crédit non nécessaire !)

A lovely family hotel with heart.

This lovely family run hotel prides itself on service with a smile. The location is quiet with beautiful scenery. There is a lovely poolside area. The hotel restaurant serves delicious food at a good price. Takis, was there with so much information and arranged a tour for the two of us which we enjoyed very much. The bedroom was comfortable with a small pretty patio to sit out on and enjoy the lovely garden. The rooms were very clean and the bed had a foam topper for comfort. We felt cared for and welcomed.

The wasps. One of us is allergic to insect stings. The wasps were out in force in August. Others we believe had also been stung. One of us ended up having to go to hospital overnight because of multiple stings. The hotel staff were very helpful getting us a ride to the clinic and were very upset that it had happened. They were aware of them. However, all of Corfu seems to have the same problem not just this hotel. Do be aware if you are anaphylactic to bring your EpiPen.

The best hotel in Corfu.

In the end of July 2025 we spent 5 beautiful days in Hotel Philoxenia Corfu. This hotel is led by a family with all their love. When we arrived, everything was ready for our welcome. The room was clean, the staff cleaned it every day, of course without disturbing us. Everyone was really helpful and kind. Read a lot of comments about there being a lot of bees; there were a few, but they didn’t disturb anyone. Of course, we cannot skip the famous Mojito from Takis. When we checked out, we could stay in the hotel’s pool, where everyone could enjoy the calm and, of course, the impressive panorama. We can confirm this is the best in the world. All in all, this was the best hotel we have ever been to.

Our staying at Philoxenia Hotel was extraordinary :)

We spent four nights at the wonderful Philoxenia Hotel. It is a family business run with heart and soul, with a very friendly owner and kind, helpful staff. An excellent place to stay for a quiet, intimate vacation. The photos of the hotel are real, and it's even more beautiful in person ❤️ We requested a room with a sea view and that's what we got 🥰 (we've attached a photo taken from the terrace). The room was clean, and the bedding and towels were white and spotless. The breakfast was plentiful, with coffee, fruits, and we especially loved the locally made cheese pie and apple pie :) The hotel has a large swimming pool with a view of the sea. We splashed around and sunbathed on the comfortable sun loungers every day, and of course sipped the EXCELLENT MOJITO, which was personally prepared by the owner Takis with fresh mint😋😋😋. We can only recommend it to everyone, don't miss it! The beach near the hotel has sun loungers and parasols available for free use (photo attached). You can also rent boats here :) It's worth trying, the view is picturesque. There are several beautiful, less frequented beaches near the hotel that can be reached by car, but for those who don't rent a car, the owner can offer a number of boat trips. The hotel also offers airport transfers and two restaurants for dining. Thanks to the family business's decades of experience, we enjoyed high-quality hospitality. The kindness and helpfulness of the owner and his family added to the wonderful memories of our amazing vacation. We would like to thank Takis😘 for the experience and hope to return one day.

Atsaucīgi saimnieki un sakopta viesnīcas teritorija, salīdzinot ar pārējo apkārtni.

Pludmales pieejamība izcila, skaista un sakopta pludmale. Brokastis bija varēja būt dažādākas, katru rītu bija viens un tas pats. Bet brokastis garšīgas.

Telpās esošais mitrums, iespējams, ka pirmajā stāvā tikai tas ir.

Séjour idilique et reposant

Cet établissement est l’un des meilleurs que nous ayons fait ! Une plage se trouve à 5 min à pied en bas de l’hôtel. L’endroit est calme. Vous trouverez une taverne en bas proche de la mer. La gentillesse du personnel, toujours le sourire, toujours là pour vous aider. La piscine est incroyable avec une vue à couper le souffle ET sans oublier les Mojito qui sont vraiment incroyable ! Milles merci, nous serions bien resté plus longtemps.

O sítio perfeito para quem quer descansar e descontrair.

O quarto era muito confortável, a cama espaçosa e com tudo o que podíamos precisar. A piscina era incrível assim como os mojitos do bar :) A verdadeira diferença está no hotel ser um hotel familiar em que nota que se preocupam com o atendimento personalizado a cada cliente e em proporcionar uma experiência incrível. Sem dúvida que recomendo!

Nao houve nada que não gostasse em particular, no entanto, sugerimos um pequeno almoço com mais variedade e equilíbrio entre grego e continental. Além disso, um repelente para abelhas, já que pelo menos nós, tivemos alguns momentos desconfortáveis por serem demasiadas e andarem muito em cima de nós.

La camera, stile anni ‘70 aveva un odore molto sgradevole e l’anta della doccia era rotta. Diciamo che le fotografie sul sito sono molto lusinghiere… Non esiste un paese; bisogna prendere la macchina per qualsiasi cosa. Inoltre il parcheggio della struttura non è sufficiente per tutte le camere.

Amazing hotel with a lovely view

Hotel has an amazing view, rooms are very clean and staff are very friendly. The pool area is really nice and has a bar to order drinks and lunch can be ordered too. The hotel also has a lovely breakfast everyday with a wide variety of food not just cereals! Also an amazing restaurant for food in the evening which serves amazing food and has a lovely view! The gentleman who runs the pool area and the tours/activities is the go to go for day trips, taxis and tours. Rooms were cleaned everyday and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The beach 5 mins down the road is very nice and also has a bar/restaurant.

The location is peaceful and quiet and does have a beach which is nice but is a car/taxi journey from a fair amount of things and it can be expensive if u have to taxi a lot as the local taxis, renting a car is the way to go. However the gentleman who runs the tours, activities and pool area at the hotel can help arrange a taxi for you and this can be much cheaper.
