Best stay in Ermones, Corfu

Philoxenia Hotel is the best accommodation option in Ermones, Corfu. We spent a few days with a group of 24 friends at the Telonis family hotel. From the moment we booked the rooms, we knew we would have a wonderful stay. Spyridon, the owners' son, always responded promptly and kindly to all our requests. They even helped us with recommendations for car rental. And when we arrived at the hotel, we felt the hospitality of the entire family. Being such a large group, they managed to offer us the most beautiful moments. Mr. Takis organized for us a wonderful trip to Paxos and Antipaxos. Mrs. Maria, Mr. Takis' wife, offered us the best homemade cakes. The hotel is run by a wonderful family. It has all the conditions for a wonderful stay and is very close to the beach, about 5-10 minutes walk.

Relaxing and exactly what we needed.

The hotel staff at the hotel were brilliant there was nothing they could not help with. The breakfast was amazing and we booked excursions they put on earlier breakfast so we could eat before we left. Mr T took us to the pick up point and waited to make sure we got on the right bus. The view was stunning and the beach was a short walk downhill. The hotel restaurant had a excellent menu and the food was delicious the staff were very accommodating with allergies etc and adjusted meals on request. This is a family run setup which makes it even more special.

The hotel was brilliant and all they offer the only draw back it how remote it is. The restaurant was excellent and there was local green bus stop that took us into Corfu town.

Takis and his family who run the hotel—they were attentive and welcoming, and it made the experience feel more personal.

We had a really pleasant stay at Corfu Philoxenia Hotel. The setting was peaceful, and the views over the olive tree-covered hills out to the ocean added a lovely sense of calm to our days. The pool was a great spot to unwind, and the cocktails served poolside were a nice treat. It’s a place that’s clearly looked after with pride, and we appreciated the relaxed atmosphere throughout our stay.

Nice hotel, beautiful beach

The place is clean, mosquito nets on all windows and doors, and the staff is always friendly and supportive. The breakfast is good. Our room had a great view. The beach is not crowded.

I have nothing that I didn't like to say about the property, but the surrounding streets and the beach are full of litter. Apparently, the government and the businesses—including the five-star hotel by the beach—don’t care about regularly taking care of the garbage, and they don't even provide trash cans for visitors. My partner and I woke up earlier on our last day to gather what we could find. The situation of stray cats is also saddening.

Almost a perfect stay!

Staff was amazing. Kind, professional, polite, any good adjective you can think of. Always available. Room was clean, beds were big and comfortable, so were the pillows. Outside glass doors had anti-insect net so we didn't have trouble with those. AC worked perfectly. Balcony was cute. Breakfast was PERFECT. Choice of food for lunch/dinner was huge with reasonable prices. Area was chill, close to the beach, to the market. Also area around the pool was probably a highlight; good cocktails. Parking was easy to find.

Shower(/bathtub) was a bit narrow, would've liked it a little bit more if it was bigger. Doors were a bit thin so you could hear noise from the hallway if someone was talking. Sides of the pool needed deeper cleaning and pool bar stools needed to be replaced. A bit of nitpicking: the fridge was small for our taste (large water bottle didn't fit).

Wonderful Stay at Philoxenia Hotel!

We had a fantastic experience at Philoxenia Hotel! The location was perfect – just a short walk from a beautiful beach with stunning sunsets every evening. It was the ideal place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with anything we needed. One of the highlights of our stay was taking part in one of the excursions organized by the hotel. We joined a trip to the nearby islands of Paxos and Antipaxos, and it was absolutely amazing – crystal-clear waters, charming scenery, and unforgettable memories. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Best Hotel on Corfu!

We loved everything from the first minute to the last moment. Once you arrive and get a feeling for the place, you immediately feel at home. Everyone in the staff team is amazingly friendly and welcoming and creates an atmosphere you will not have anywhere else. Our room had everything we could ask for and we felt very comfortable staying in it for our week at Philoxenia. The view from the balcony stands out and we highly recommend getting the sea view room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was always prepared fresh and you could feel the love and energy put into any meal. This is the place to stay when you think about vacation on Corfu. It has everything you need and more and will give you the same. Thanks to Taki and the whole family for welcoming us to your beautiful home and making our vacation better than we could only imagine! Philoxenia means hospitality and that's the only right and perfect name for this hotel. In all kind of ways the family who are running this hotel provide this unlimited hospitality. True kindness, always with a smile and nothing you ask is to much. We had a wonderfull time here and we wanna to give a great thanks to this whole family! Thank you so much for giving us a true relaxing holdiday! We can surely advise to anyone who want to have a perfect holiday and get a warm welcome with a true smile. A lovely family hotel with heart.

This lovely family run hotel prides itself on service with a smile. The location is quiet with beautiful scenery. There is a lovely poolside area. The hotel restaurant serves delicious food at a good price. Takis, was there with so much information and arranged a tour for the two of us which we enjoyed very much. The bedroom was comfortable with a small pretty patio to sit out on and enjoy the lovely garden. The rooms were very clean and the bed had a foam topper for comfort. We felt cared for and welcomed.

The wasps. One of us is allergic to insect stings. The wasps were out in force in August. Others we believe had also been stung. One of us ended up having to go to hospital overnight because of multiple stings. The hotel staff were very helpful getting us a ride to the clinic and were very upset that it had happened. They were aware of them. However, all of Corfu seems to have the same problem not just this hotel. Do be aware if you are anaphylactic to bring your EpiPen.

The best hotel in Corfu.

In the end of July 2025 we spent 5 beautiful days in Hotel Philoxenia Corfu. This hotel is led by a family with all their love. When we arrived, everything was ready for our welcome. The room was clean, the staff cleaned it every day, of course without disturbing us. Everyone was really helpful and kind. Read a lot of comments about there being a lot of bees; there were a few, but they didn’t disturb anyone. Of course, we cannot skip the famous Mojito from Takis. When we checked out, we could stay in the hotel’s pool, where everyone could enjoy the calm and, of course, the impressive panorama. We can confirm this is the best in the world. All in all, this was the best hotel we have ever been to.

Our staying at Philoxenia Hotel was extraordinary :)

We spent four nights at the wonderful Philoxenia Hotel. It is a family business run with heart and soul, with a very friendly owner and kind, helpful staff. An excellent place to stay for a quiet, intimate vacation. The photos of the hotel are real, and it's even more beautiful in person ❤️ We requested a room with a sea view and that's what we got 🥰 (we've attached a photo taken from the terrace). The room was clean, and the bedding and towels were white and spotless. The breakfast was plentiful, with coffee, fruits, and we especially loved the locally made cheese pie and apple pie :) The hotel has a large swimming pool with a view of the sea. We splashed around and sunbathed on the comfortable sun loungers every day, and of course sipped the EXCELLENT MOJITO, which was personally prepared by the owner Takis with fresh mint😋😋😋. We can only recommend it to everyone, don't miss it! The beach near the hotel has sun loungers and parasols available for free use (photo attached). You can also rent boats here :) It's worth trying, the view is picturesque. There are several beautiful, less frequented beaches near the hotel that can be reached by car, but for those who don't rent a car, the owner can offer a number of boat trips. The hotel also offers airport transfers and two restaurants for dining. Thanks to the family business's decades of experience, we enjoyed high-quality hospitality. The kindness and helpfulness of the owner and his family added to the wonderful memories of our amazing vacation. We would like to thank Takis😘 for the experience and hope to return one day.

Amazing hotel with a lovely view

Hotel has an amazing view, rooms are very clean and staff are very friendly. The pool area is really nice and has a bar to order drinks and lunch can be ordered too. The hotel also has a lovely breakfast everyday with a wide variety of food not just cereals! Also an amazing restaurant for food in the evening which serves amazing food and has a lovely view! The gentleman who runs the pool area and the tours/activities is the go to go for day trips, taxis and tours. Rooms were cleaned everyday and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The beach 5 mins down the road is very nice and also has a bar/restaurant.

The location is peaceful and quiet and does have a beach which is nice but is a car/taxi journey from a fair amount of things and it can be expensive if u have to taxi a lot as the local taxis, renting a car is the way to go. However the gentleman who runs the tours, activities and pool area at the hotel can help arrange a taxi for you and this can be much cheaper.

Comfortable, basic, and far from Corfu town !

Nice family run hotel located on Western side of Corfu with poor public transportation links to Corfu town centre. Be aware buses are often full and might not stop! Very infrequent too! Overall, this hotel was functional and had an excellent breakfast. Rooms quite simple with no microwave and basic furniture and a balcony. The hotel restaurant was exceptionally expensive 15 Euros for a donner and staff requested payment in cash! Family run it seems and owners were very helpful with alternative transportation to Corfu centre.

Philoxenia, a beautiful and quaint family owned hotel standing right in front of the beautiful Ionian Sea. We came off season in May, and were delighted to stay somewhere quiet yet close enough to many activities in restaurants by driving. The family was always there if we needed anything and they helped us out with many questions we had about the trip and places to go to. We didn’t get a chance to try the famous Mojito’s but I hope we will be coming back soon to sit by the pull and sip on this delicious cocktail. We also tried the restaurant at the hotel and I must say the food was a real delight, we got a taste at traditional greek food, but it also offers many other choices, and the service was great! The comfort of our room and the beds were really cozy to sleep in, and we’d always come home to a clean room as we came back from our ventures out around Corfu! I really hope I get to visit M.Takis’ family again! Thank you for everything!

The loveliest family-run hotel stay with the best views and superb staff

A great family-run hotel in a beautiful corner of Corfu. The view from our room took our breath away. Excellent breakfast with great views of the Ionian. Staff were genuinely friendly and went above and beyond in making our stay memorable.

Quiet and relaxing

Great pool area. Spacious room. Great breakfast. Lovely staff. Quiet location. Near to the beach. One of the owners explained that we should have booked directly with the hotel as they offer a 10% discount if you can pay cash and they will transfer you to and from the airport for free. This is a huge saving as it costs around 50 euros each way. Basically, don't use booking.com. Sorry Booking.com but people need to know. Also there's a small, slightly unusual shop about half a mile away where you can buy snacks, bottled water, beers, toiletries etc. It closes between 3.30 and 5.30.

The shower was incredibly small. I'm a large man and it was really difficult to shower properly. There was room for a larger shower. I've been in roomier phone boxes. There's only really a choice of two places to eat. Either the hotel restaurant or the Taverna down by the beach but both are great. There's a bus stop about half a mile away from the hotel which can take you to Corfu town . We used it for a day trip and it was great so we decided to use it to take us back to Corfu on our last day before we went to the airport. It didn't turn up so we had to go back to the hotel and ask them to get us a taxi. Taxi to Corfu was 45 euros.

Maria and Spyros run first class hotel that caters to their clients at every aspect of Greek hospitality with a view for your eyes only. Highly recommend the hotel, the beach and beaches near by (ask Spyros) and the restaurant (Maria’s) has authentic Greek food that Alexco operates. Tell them Dino sent you—- Opa!

Alexander, his wife and the whole staff were welcoming and so nice. They helped us and gave us information about the island. The rooms are good for couples and the view to the mountain is beautiful

Good stay

I really enjoyed the location - very calm and close to attractions: winery, golf club. The refurbished rooms with the sea view are great. But could do with softer pillows (or that there would be a choice). The poolside is very very nice and its great that almost at all times you can get food in the facility.

Coffee during breakfast was not great:( Also considering there is no other places to eat nearby, of the restaurant food (for residents at least) would be a little cheaper, then we would have eaten there all 7 days of our stay. Prices not much different as in the super touristy taverna at the beach made us venture more outside for dinner and lunch.

Great all around. Sea view is amazing, staff were very friendly and helpful. Beach is a short walk away. Breakfast could use a bit more variety. I would recommend this to anyone.

The location is great but you must have a car. Otherwise, it's very very expensive to take a taxi anywhere. There's not a great deal to do around. Only 3 restaurants in total, including the one from the hotel. Make sure you rent a car or a scooter if you want to not feel isolated.

Super nice and relaxing family-run hotel

We absolutely loved our stay at Philoxenia! The family running the place are the nicest and most helpful people ever. The area is beautiful, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the pool area is super chill and cozy. The breakfast was also really nice. The hotel is very close to the beach, restaurants, and a supermarket. Our warmest recommendations, and many thanks to Mr Takis and company! PS, don't miss out on Takis' and Christos' magical mojitos at the pool's swim up-bar 😎

Vacationing here recharged our batteries to 100%.

The hotel complex has many terraces with a great view. Sunset view is exceptional from the restaurant terrace. We dined in every evening, domestic dishes are freshly prepared and I can't describe how wonderfully it tasted every single time. Staff is exceptionally friendly and hospital, they welcome you as you were their oldest friend. The place altogether is well organized, not crowdy, well preserved and clean. I loved that breakfast, lunch and dinner each take place on different terrace. We spent the whole 5-day vacation in the hotel area. The place is perfect for relaxing and recharging. I was thinking about coming back with a laptop to work remotely for some time.

Perfect

We loved everything about our stay in Philoxenia. We were made feel most welcome from the moment we arrived at the hotel. Takis, Maria and Spiridon and all the staff made sure everything was perfect for our stay. There was a lovely buffet breakfast and lunch and dinner were also available. Most of our family are vegetarian and there were plenty of options to choose from and all freshly made. Takis makes one of the best mojitos, he even picks the mint from the garden as he makes them. Takis gave great advice on places to go and things to see and arranged trips if required. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the beach and there is a small shop nearby where you can get essentials. The bus stop is located near the shop where the green bus stops several times a day and will take you to Corfu Town. The location is beautiful, surrounded by wooded hills and so many wild flowers. We were sad to be leaving and hope to return some day
