Cappadocia Gamirasu Cave Hotel

We absolutely loved our four nights at Gamirasu Cave Hotel. This is one of those rare hotels that you leave feeling genuinely sad to go. What makes it so special is that it has real character. It is not a polished, copy-and-paste Hilton or Sheraton type hotel where everything is perfect, predictable and ultimately feels the same as everywhere else in the world. Gamirasu is the complete opposite. It is alive. It has soul. It has little corners, old stone, cave rooms, different levels, unexpected details and a sense of history everywhere you look. No two parts feel quite the same, and that is exactly what makes all the difference. The whole place feels authentic rather than manufactured. You don’t feel like someone sat in a corporate office and designed a “Cappadocia experience”. You feel like you are actually staying somewhere with a story and a personality. The staff were wonderful throughout our stay — warm, kind, relaxed and genuinely helpful. We travelled with our two children and felt completely welcome. Nothing felt stiff or overly formal, and there was always someone happy to help with whatever we needed. We also really liked the location. It is peaceful and away from the busiest tourist areas, but still a great base for exploring Cappadocia. After being out all day, coming back to the hotel, having a swim, sitting somewhere among the old stone buildings or just wandering around the property was part of the experience itself. Breakfast was excellent, the pool was great, the rooms were comfortable, but honestly it is difficult to reduce this hotel to a list of facilities. That isn’t really why we loved it. We loved it because it feels alive. Because it has character. Because it has soul. And because places like this are becoming increasingly rare.

Personally, there is nothing to complain about. If one is looking for a polished business type city hotel, this isn't it - but that is what makes all the difference.
