The hotel smelled at several locations to weed, room was not clean and heating was not working properly.

Just about perfect!

Gorgeous Hotel, luxurious in every detail! Loved the Christmas decorations, cozy bar, good breakfast and the spa/pool/hottub was perfect!

No standard bathrobes in the room. You have to pay a 30 euro deposit. It was not offered to us at check in. There was only one left, and we needes 2. The one I got was size XL (way to big) and it was broken. At this rate you would expect to have good quality bathrobes and slippers in the room, no deposit or other limitations.

A relaxing stay in a lovely room in a perfect location for us and all the facilities we needed.

Excellent rooms with really comfortable beds. We loved the room service too and the staff are all really polite, friendly and helpful. The balcony was large and the room air conditioned. We had great views being on the third floor and most evenings we watched hot air balloons. Ideal having a small fridge in the room and the usual tea and coffee making facilities. The shower area is large and fresh towels were provided daily. We made use of the pool area and the outside terrace both of which were thankfully quiet for the duration of our stay. We would definitely visit again and choose the same standard of room.

There were a couple of days when there was a drain smell in the hotel including in our room. We opened the balcony door so it wasn’t a huge issue but there was clearly a maintenance need around this.

Okay, I would’ve expected more for my money.

The beds were comfortable and the hotel was relatively quiet. The Spa and wellness facilities were okay, although the Jacuzzi was nowhere near warm enough. Plenty of parking. Hotel is a short walk from the local village in which plenty of nice little restaurants can be found and two supermarkets.

The property has a new wing and an old wing. The old wing is slightly outdated, air-conditioning is controlled from the front desk, and you need to ask to have the temperature range changed. A single elevator in the old wing was out of service for three of the seven days we were there.. The new wing is slightly better, but again air conditioning was controlled from the front desk and only range of temperatures can be set. At times there was a strong smell effluent waste from the drains in the bathrooms. The front desk staff can be a little bit off at times. Bar and restaurant staff were very pleasant.

Still waiting for my invoice since 5 days ..... if you want any invoices from them, you'll have to run behind them. Kindly check check on how they debit your cards. You need to have more options for vegetarians .. wasnt enough at all!

Exceptional

Arrived late but were welcomed with a smile and the receptionist was able to book us in to the restaurant for a late dinner. The maître d'hôtel made sure we had a good table and all the waiting staff were very helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. The decor is amazing. The bed was so comfortable I had the best night's sleep I've had in over a year! Would love to stay again.

I needed to charge my Norwegian electric car, a Volvo. I chose the Van der Valk with this as a key criteria. I could find no way to use the non-Tesla charging points, as I did not have a tag from the supplier, so I had the indignity of visiting the McDonalds site nearby. A charging point activated by a contactless charge card (and one that is not issued by a Dutch bank, a problem had more than once in the Netherlands) would be much appreciated.

Sauna, swimming pool and fitness was amazing. Bar and restaurant staff was very welcoming and friendly. Room was extremely clean and comfortable, no noise, we slept amazing. Restaurant food was next level!

Reception staff was unwelcoming. They barely made any eye contact both with check in and check out, barely spoke, rushed through the whole process. It was like having two robots. They really do not match face of the hotel and should learn a thing or two from bar and restaurant staff members!
