8 / 10Excellent·Oct 2026
It is right in the middle of the forest and nearby to all the hikes/trails/ activities that you can do. Nearby to the station and the centre of the town. Location is great. The rooms are old but sufficient enough for a night or two. They offer sunrise and sunset tours as well.
No elevator

Had a great long sleep in a comfortable bed.

Free shuttle from bus station and to train station. The driver even took our heavy suitcases to our rooms. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great service. Great specialty coffee in the lobby. Pleasant view on the mountain. Building a bit dated but not much different to what you get in Japan in mountain location. it has its charm.
Breakfast is average and in a different location to a restaurant up the road. Wet bathroom is not our preference. No fridge in the room. Extractor fan a bit noisy in the bathroom (bring earplugs). No elevator.

The staff are friendly and offered free shuttle to Alishan bus stop.
The location is slightly far from Alishan train station which requires walking down the slippery and steep stairs. Facilities are quite old and the bedside lamps are covered in dust.
