    I went with 2 friends, so a total of 3 people, and we only stayed for one night. Our reasoning was that (1)the hotel was expensive and (2) you only need 2 days for Alishan. We really only stayed in the hotel to sleep, but like some other reviews say, it is very cold (since it is on a mountain), and there doesn't seem to be room individual heating. If you are planning to go to Alishan, I would really only stay in the recreational area for one night to see the sunrise the next morning. The hotel does do morning call if you tell them you are going to see the sunrise, so that is nice. The included breakfast is at a canteen not attached to the building, and it probably average if not below average (if you don't like Taiwanese breakfast like my friends, you are probably better off getting something at 7/11). Locationwise though, this hotel was nice, but if you have a lot of luggage and are coming from the train station be aware that you have to walk up and down steps to get to the building. Anyways, my point is that I think this hotel gets a lot of flack, but if you only stay for one night, it's quite reasonable and more than enough time at the park recreation area.

    Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The room was comfortable, and the staff were helpful. However, there are a few areas that could be improved, particularly in terms of cleanliness and amenities. With a little improvement, this hotel could provide an even better experience.

    The room was unclean (old tissues and flip flop under the bed...). The staff was kind of rude. They closed the park when we were there because of the Champi Typhoon and no one at the reception told us even if we saw them a couple times. The only advantage of this hotel is its location.
