Hostel Saruya

OMG, what a gem! The friendliest staff ever makes you instantly feel like home. It is a clean, warm and cozy place. We were sent to the annex building which is even more adorable than the main building. Breakfast at the co-operated FabCafé, booked through the hostel, is also highly recommended. A big plus is the proximity to the Akayarama Sengen Park. We visited it twice during our stay: for sunset (be there an hour early) and for sunrise (we left at 4:30). You gotta see this! Fujisan is covered in mist and clouds most of the day, but for sunset and sunrise you should have a great view from Chureito Pagoda. It is just a 10 min. walk from the hostel and then the famous 400 steps. We shall send all of our friends to Saruya Hostel! You are amazing! A big thank you!

It was very nice and confy, I loved the wooden location and to sleep on the tatami.

This was one of my favourite hotels in Japan. It was very cosy, with a traditional style and it was close to all the attractions. I wish I could have stayed more.

Everything was perfect, they take care of all the small details.

Saruya Hostel is located on the main street in Fuhiyoshida, offering a stunning view of Mount Fuji (the famous landmark in the photos). This was our first stay at such a place. We were a bit apprehensive about the shared bathroom, but when we were looking for accommodations in Fujiyoshida, we found it charming. We weren't disappointed. The property itself is even nicer in person than in the photos. It's clean and well-maintained. We had no problems using the common areas. We had a great night's sleep, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We have very fond memories of our stay there.
