Hostel Saruya

This was one of my favourite hotels in Japan. It was very cosy, with a traditional style and it was close to all the attractions. I wish I could have stayed more.

Everything was perfect, they take care of all the small details.

Saruya Hostel is located on the main street in Fuhiyoshida, offering a stunning view of Mount Fuji (the famous landmark in the photos). This was our first stay at such a place. We were a bit apprehensive about the shared bathroom, but when we were looking for accommodations in Fujiyoshida, we found it charming. We weren't disappointed. The property itself is even nicer in person than in the photos. It's clean and well-maintained. We had no problems using the common areas. We had a great night's sleep, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We have very fond memories of our stay there.

Staying here for 1 night was the highlight of my entire 3 week Japan trip. I want to stay much longer my next trip!

We loved this property. We stayed in a twin room upstairs- spacious, comfortable old charm, friendly staff and very comfortable beds. The breakfast at the linked cafe next door was delightful. Location is perfect and it was easy to get up early for this photos as it’s right there. It’s a great location to explore from and we enjoyed a visit to Bright Blue Brewing where they are doing some really interesting beers. We found a brilliant restaurant (51) just around the corner. With Mt Fuji looming large over you, it’s a very spiritual and a very special place. Highly recommended.
