The location is excellent, above the Kiental valley and reachable by the steepest PostBus ever at a 28deg incline. The views are majestic and the rooms are simple, clean and delivering indeed a nostalgic experience. There is a feeling of familiarity with the staff, they are super kind and friendly. Dinner was delicious and the choices for breakfast are great to start a hiking day, which you can start right in front of the hotel.
The stairs are a bit squeaky and you can hear your neighbors through the doors. But these are minor - the place is absolutely amazing if you are looking for a base to start hiking or want to spend a weekend away from the city.

It’s an old hotel in a gorgeous location. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming
It’s an old building so don’t expect the same amenities of a newer building.

wonderful setting
it’s age - everything creaks (wooden floors etc) and l
light filters through the wood slats (ceiling included)
only 2 showers which didn’t drain and 2 loos
