Basic but perfect for a short stay at the beach!

Staff were super helpful and friendly! Our fan broke and they sorted it the next day and helped with anything you needed. The room was clean but basic. However, had a TV and a fridge and everything needed when not spending much time in the room.

Somethings could do with a refresh or update.

Good location, bad hospitality

The location was central but quiet. The room was basic but I would have been happy with it if I had paid hostel prices.

Usually you get some degree of hospitality--friendly greetings, maybe some offer of maps or sightseeing advice. That definitely didn't happen here. The staff does not speak English or Spanish, which is fine, but they made very little effort to communicate (ie, sometimes not responding to "bom dia" or "olá"). Worse, they double charged me for the room and didn't try to work out the issue at all. They just texted me that I had not been double charged, when it was clear that I had. The wifi didn't work at all for four days, which would be fine if they didn't advertise wifi as one of the benefits. They are upfront about the unstable electricity on the island, but during a power outage I realized that most of the hotels had their own generators and this one did not, leaving us to sleep without a fan in 30+ degrees. The communication might be better for Brazilians than for foreigners, as I see searching these reviews by date that I was not the only foreign visitor to get an unexpected charge. Overall, this was one of my most disappointing travel experiences. With so many hotels on the island, you could do better.

Despite the high price, our stay at Porto Abraao Pousada was disappointing. While the reception staff were helpful, the overall service did not meet expectations. The breakfast was very poor. Although it starts at 8:00 am, by 8:15 there was almost nothing left, and the breakfast area was not clean. The breakfast team in particular was not very welcoming or supportive. Considering the cost, the value received was very low. At this price point, you expect much better service, cleanliness, and hospitality.

Nice little hotel in quiet but still central location!

Very nice hotel in great location - quiet at night but still close to everything. Super friendly staff and clean room. Good breakfast included

Mattress was very hard, fine for me but gave my partner back pain. Room rather rustic / basic esp for the superior room. We booked a boat tour through the hotel with the lovely English speaking receptionist - however, we were surprised that no one from the guides could speak one word of English, if it wasn’t for a helpful Brazilian on the tour that helped us translate we would have not been able to understand eg safety instructions (was a very wavy day and bunny boat ride)

The room was good and the breakfast too

The receptionist showed us the “old” tour prices and then gave us a new, much higher price, which wasn’t great. She warned us to be careful about booking with others on the island, but we ended up finding a much cheaper option with very kind people — so it turns out she was lying.

Se descansa bien

La ducha tenía buena presión de agua y temperatura. A pesar de no quedar en la zona más turística, el entorno era tranquilo, la noche silenciosa y estaba rodeado de familias haciendo su vida cotidiana.

El aseo era deficiente, encontramos debajo de la cama ropa de pasajero anterior, no reponian el papel higiénico, al desayuno le faltaba variedad, el camino era de tierra y se aposaba barro lo que hace del entorno algo descuidado. . El aire acondicionado sonaba muy fuerte por lo que habia que apagarlo en la noche
