Southern hospitality with amazing steaks

The restaurant, one of last places where the meat is extraordinary. We’ve been to numerous places but can’t remember when we have eaten a piece of such quality. We are planning to come back soon. Also recommend this place for motor enthousiast since you can park your bike out of sight and the rooms are specious enough for your kit.

A very pleasant surprise for someone who books a lot of hotels.

The single occupancy room was basic, but clean. The staff were great ... great at reception and in the restaurant. The real surprise came in the restaurant - one of the best steak meals I have had.

The single beds were amazingly small ... but comfortable enough.

A great place to stay near Ghent

Lovely hotel. Great room, spacious and clean. The setting of the hotel grounds are particularly nice and peaceful. The restaurant/breakfast room is really lovely. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. There is ample parking.

It is about 20mins+ into Ghent, but it wouldn't be a countryside peaceful place, so you can't have it both ways.

A chance to take a moment to relax in a busy schedule and to enjoy being at one with nature!

A fabulous location in the countryside - surrounded by immaculately kept grounds and a lake populated with various waterbirds and their families - plenty to watch and listen to. The room and buildings were attractive and well laid out, parking was easy and the restaurant had a lovely ambiance and a good choice of meals - the availability of a 'barbecue at your table' looked to be a real winner! Staff were very friendly, helpful and pleasant from the moment we arrived. It was a real pleasure to stay here.

Very good

The restaurant decor is quite unique and the food was very good. We tried Kangaroo and Bison, cooked perfefrly. Staffs very helpful and friendly and very welcoming! Rooms size was good, bathroom size was great. We stayed 1 night, although it was rainning and dull but in whple the place is quite pretty.

The pillow was too small and flat. There were no hand wash or shower gel. Could do with a kettle.

Amazing stay

Ambiance is very good. If one has to spend great time in nature, outside of the busy area, I truly recommend this place. Breakfast is included and it’s delicious. You can also do the reservations for dinner at the restaurant. If you’re a foodie then it’s an heaven for grill lovers.

Excellent place for relaxation

All was ok, breakfast was good, friendly staff, quite place for relaxation; I will consider next time for a longer time The dinner was amazing with some staff cooked under our eyes; they were also flexible to bring us a big salad with anything added like it was in the menu; the location is good for people with a car, otherwise is a little struggle to move around

Great location, beer and food!

The bike storage facility is secure and only accessible via the staff, though the room is also used for storage so can be a bit cramped if other cyclists are using it. Maybe a bit of a clear out and some bike hangers on the walls and it would be perfect! The continental breakfast was excellent with a great selection every morning. We ate in the restaurant every night and the food and grilled steaks were the best weve had combined with a great Belgian beer selection. Really good after hard day on the bergs. Cant wait to come back!

The Booking.com site states a coffee machine is included in the Deluxe room - it isn’t. Theres a kettle and sachets of tea and coffee replaceable at €1 charge. Needs correcting.

Great, characterful restaurant and bar, smelt fantastic. Check in and parking were easy, staff were very friendly. Room was comfortable, spacious and clean. Breakfast was good. Wifi was good. Would definitely stay again

Cyclist friendly hotel close to Ghent in quiet location.

I liked peace and quiet around the hotel. Swans on their lake are adorable. With car, close distance to Ghent 20min, Brussels 1h, Brugge 50min. Great spot for road cyclists gateway. Rustic style of restaurant feels different and unique. Owners and staff are welcoming and friendly.

Breakfast selection was not up to expectations, bad news for Vegans (I am not Vegan myself). Everything else was great!

Fantastic stay! Really friendly welcome, lovely comfortable rooms with great bathroom (well worth having rooms overlooking the lake/garden), really quiet and super breakfast. Highly recommend - we'll certainly be back

Warm weather was unexpected so everything else was good.

Dinner was exceptional and breakfast was good and the location was perfect for our next business meeting.

Unusual American style hotel in the middle of nowhere!

We had the upgrade to a Comfort room. It was a Big room on the first/top floor, good shower, nice quiet view over the garden/lake. Had a walk around the grounds. The ground floor standard rooms were very overlooked and much smaller so pleased we upgraded. Continental breakfast was good although my partner always wants a hot breakie!

From the outside the place looks a bit odd, then the reception/bar/restaurant is fab with loads of character. Big bulls head on the wall, chef cooking on an open grill. When you get to the rooms they are a bit bland and lack any character at all and painted an odd yellow colour. a few accessories to make it more homely would be great.
