We did not have breakfast by choice. The location was excellent for the venue we visited nearby. Staff were professional at all times. They were accommodating, friendly and made us feel welcome. There were good choices of ales at the bar and the food we had at the restaurant was delicious and plentiful, good value for the price. The room was good enough for our use and the bed was comfortable. The area was peaceful and quiet day and night. There was a well kept garden/shrubbery and plenty of seating. There was a calm atmosphere from staff and punters that added to our experience of relaxation.

We found the room, given the hot weather too warm, although there was a desk fan it didn't work properly as was not affective. The toilet brush was old and rusty. Not sure if we had to make staff aware of the need to have a change of towels when first arriving, as this was not done on the second day of staying, and we had to ask for the old towels to be replaced, which was done immediately. No decaf coffees or teas available. We did not complain during our stay of these issues as we felt our stay was good enough and enjoyable. We would stay again.

No room cleaning or refreshing tea/coffee facilities. There is no mention that the stairs to rooms are very steep & narrow stepped on web site, might be difficult for some people. Overall basic but clean, staff friendly.
