Campanile Hotel & Restaurant Brussels Vilvoorde

Hotel is very near Vilvoorde train station. Our room was and felt clean. Spacious room and good water pressure in the shower. Friendly and helpful staff.

Musty smell in the room but we kept the window open. No air conditioning and it got pretty hot at night. Couldn’t keep the window open at night because of the mosquitos. Staff could communicate better between each other. Our reservation was almost cancelled because of miscommunication. All good in the end tho.

The room was small but very clean and quiet. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel door. The train station is only 5-7 minutes walking. Very nice and relaxing restaurant. There is a very nice park just opposite the train station.

No air conditioning in the room. My travel was during the June heat wave (38 degrees). I was sleeping with an open window. Breakfast was nice, but too expensive for the offered variety. There was a small problem with the bathroom shower head that needs to be replaced.

Excellent location. The airport bus stops right outside and the bus and train station are just around the corner. It's an industrial area so it's quiet but there are a few food and drink places near by so you don't need to go into the city if you don't want to. Despite a lot of reviews about dirty rooms, mine was clean and comfortable.

When I checked in, I went to my room and tried locking the door using the chub lock, it would not lock so I went to reception and they gave me a new room. The key for new room would not work so I went back and they gave me a third room. Again, the chub lock did not work on the door but I was tired and fed up so I accepted it and decided I just wouldn't leave any valuables in the room as I was only staying for one day anyway. The corridor I was on looked like something from a horror film. All the doors are battered looking and the chub locks clearly don't work on any of them. Ok, you need a key card to get in but when you're away from home you want that added security. Whatever has happened to the doors, they are very difficult to open and close so it's quiet noisy when people are entering and leaving their rooms, I was woken a few times by this during the night. Again, a lot of people have left comments about dirty bedrooms and bathrooms but mine was fine. There is a constant noise from the bathroom extractor so I had to shut the bathroom door, although it drags against the bathroom floor so is very difficult to open and close. No air con so room got very warm at night, again this woke me, I wouldn't be able to stay here in the summer.
