Tamarind Village

I love that Tamarind Village is located at the heart of Old City. It is charming and very laid back with quiet guests during our stay. Breakfast was delicious but it would be great it there were more variety to the choices that we get each day. People were very friendly and accomodating, we had a great time during our 4D3N with Tamarind Village.

I think it is very minimal but maybe if we could have been given or provided with better toilettries. There were no toothbrushes nor toothpastes, we had to ask and they come in very small packs. The paste could only last 2 uses and for those who are staying longer, had to expect to keep asking for more each day. Shaving kits should be provided as well. When asked, the shaver came alone, without any packaging (unsure if it was used before) and it was very blunt. My husband ended up not using it. Parking only had 3 slots for car. Despite informing the hotel, it was not reserved for us. Only that we didnt have a parking on the first day, but we did the rest of our stays. If you're renting a bike, it would be easier as they have spots for bikes. The walls and doors are very thin, so you'd be able to hear whats happening upstairs, or the stairs that is located beside your room. Up and down thumpings are to be expected throughout the day which is bad for light sleepers. The space isnt friendly for those who have leg injuries. The steps were very high and most of the property have steps or stairs. Do ask for bottom rooms and prepare your walking sticks for extra support. I went prepared so it was all okay!

They pay attention to even the smallest details to make you feel like you’re truly in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Both the breakfast and dinner are delicious. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, always greeting you with a warm smile. The location is excellent.

The Wi-Fi disconnects every time you lock your phone, so having to enter your username and password repeatedly becomes quite frustrating. The room is very small. It’s beautifully designed, with tasteful details and charming decor, but there are so many decorative elements that they take up much of the already limited space, both in the room and in the bathroom. As a result, it never really feels comfortable—you don’t have enough room to move around or to put your belongings. The pillows are either too firm or too soft; having a medium-firm option would make a big difference.

Tamarind Village is a welcome oasis off the plane from the uk with jetlag and from walking the bustling streets of Chiang Mai. Its gentle and cooling green charm with the wonderful Tamarind tree and all flowers and plants is so special. The staff were also gentle and friendly and everything was impeccable. Luscious cooling pool for swimming and relaxing. Delicious and diverse food for breakfast and dinner. My family and I also loved the craft activities and very interesting and historic village walk. I would recommend Tamarind Village as a great place to stay and return to.

It’s a beautiful place

We had a lot of issues, for example the bed side lamp was not working, bed room key had issues as well and had to be changed, so it was annoying to have to go through all the trouble to get people over in your room and fix it, and the hotel didn’t really try to make up for any of these issues etc
