A simple place, bike storage nothing special, but OK

Bike storage was in an unlocked garage area next to the entrance. Not particularly secure but given the location I wasn't worried.

Quite a long way from the main part of the settlement, 1-2 km to the supermarket. No problem on a bike, of course.

A great stay with for a great price.

The old fashioned style of the pension. Prepare for squeaky floors and stairs that all ad up the an amazing frozen in time wine farm turned pension.

Shared toilet was a bit of a let down but I should have read the facility list better.

Delightful, quaint little pension by the Mosel river

In line with some of the other comments here, I'd say come with the right expectations. We were expecting a charming but somewhat old and outdated place, and found it perfectly comfortable and great value for money. The host was gracious and accommodating, the room was spacious with decent beds, and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely return.

Kobern-Gondorf is a sleepy town even for Mosel standards, but there are plenty nice hiking trails and we did end up eating well in the few restaurants that were open.

The owner was very friendly and made me feel "at home." The breakfast was plentiful. I loved the frsh bread every day.

The staff was very welcoming and the Pension is dog-friendly (which is greatly appreciated with two dogs!) Breakfast was great and prepared with great care. The Pension is located in a historical building, right next to a castle.

There was a bit of street noise.

Quaint hotel

It is a quaint hotel. Old but with style. Friendly staff. We had apartment style rooms, which consisted of 3 bedrooms and a bathroom connected by a private corridor (no kitchen). Comfy beds. Breakfast was excellent (fresh rolls!) (unfortunately, only German coffee, not strong). From the hotel, it was a short walk to the Moselle. By following the footpath on the river bank, you can walk to the next village which has restaurants and a supermarket. We had a lovely stay and would return.

At night, it was rather cold, and we would have appreciated additional quilts. We personally didn't care, but if you are a light sleeper, you might be bothered by the train track, which runs next to the hotel.

The hosts and family are kind and cuteous. This is our 3rd visit and we have been happy to return.

The hosts are truly kind and accommodating. Bedroom as very clean with good quality bed linen and towels. The garden is also very pretty. The fresh flowers from the garden are used at the breakfast table.

The pension is extremely close to a railway line which operates 24 hrs per day. Sleep can be disruptive. However the inclusive breakfast is of a very very high standard. All served in a wonderful breakfast room.

A good place for a family that needs extra space

Quaint historic building situated in a perfect location to go see castles and hike around the Mosel river area. The ground floor apartment room was spacious, two bedrooms (one larger with a sitting area facing the front garden) and a bathroom in between. You have your own key so you can come and go freely without disturbing anyone. The breakfast room was charming and we enjoyed the breakfast offerings. Across the bridge is a delicious German restaurant Gasthaus Traube Niederfell, the owner recommended this place and it didn't disappoint.

The apartment room was not really in the main house proper so it lacked a lot of the charm. I think the rooms could use an updating to the bedding/curtains/lighting to match the rest of the house. Also the second bedroom shares a wall with the plumbing of the bathroom, toilet sounds were clearly audible and could be pretty awkward if we weren't family.

Spacious room next to train track in gorgeous surrounding.

The room is very spacious and the breakfast was good. The house is located in a very scenic area, however, there is a busy train track immediately next to the room.

Booking.com gave the option to mention the time of arrival. I arrived later (between 8 and 9pm) than I first expected (between 7 and 8pm) but mentioned this in the time of arrival on the homepage. Unfortunately the host was not amused and he gave me a hard time with lengthy questions about my late arrival. Very unfortunate start which did not really improved later

Good for cyclists and guests with a car

The host was very welcoming. Check in/out was super easy. Breakfast was great. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean.

It is quite a long walk to the center of town, so if you don’t have a car or bikes, I would recommend a different place. It is directly next to a big street and a train track so it’s quite loud during the day but was surprisingly quiet at night. The noise only woke me once or twice. The house and decor have seen better days, but for a stop on a bike or road trip, it is perfectly fine.

Rustic, charming family-run pension, with lovely breakfast service

Good breakfast, very good service (nice to be catered :) ) Very charming and peculiar little place. Family business. The toilet was shared but in the end only for our room. It's a funny, old building full of pictures of birds. Rather quirky but overal really good experience.

Rather small window and room can get hot. But unlike the other reviews, we didn't think the trains were so loud.
