Palazzo Lombardo

The manager and all staff we met were wonderful - helpful, kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. The breakfast area was a nice touch, too. Our room was spacious and clean, and the building itself was gorgeous with its sculptures and intricate moldings and decorations. I would call the stay comfortable, clean, and budget friendly.

We visited in the middle of an intense heat wave, and the AC had a hard time keeping up because of the very high ceilings (I mean, the ceilings were designed to be high precisely so the hot air would stay up there). We were fine and comfortable, but people who expect to be able to crank the AC won't be able to do that here.

Our stay at Palazzo Lombardo was simply exceptional. Our host was amazing—she is a great person who truly loves what she does. She adores communicating with guests and makes you feel completely at home. Even before we arrived, she was in touch, making sure we would get there on time and offering help if we had any issues. When we arrived, the place was breathtaking—an old building with stunning Italian architecture, beautifully decorated. Our room had the most beautiful ceiling I’ve ever seen in a hotel, so even if you love sightseeing, you won’t miss it while lying in bed and gazing up. Everything was impeccably clean, and they even provided complimentary water and coffee. I didn’t want to leave! Our host was simply outstanding, and I’m sure we’ll return to this place again and again. If you’re worried it’s a bit far from the city center, it really isn’t—if you walk fast, you can reach the center in about 15 minutes, and the bus station is right in front, so don’t hesitate—stay there and enjoy the beauty of Florence!

Very helpful stuff, they also gave us useful information about the city. Free and pretty fast WIFI. Nice snacks and drinks are available at all times. Air conditioning was very good. Close to bus stations and to a train station. Quiet street. The rooms are pretty and comfortable.

The only real downside was that there was no air ventilation in the bathroom, so we kept the door open often. There was also no safe in the rooms, but the owner said that she is in the process of adding them. Some of the busses are very early or very late (not the hotel fault, just for you to know).
