Very cozy place, people very receptive and caring. All of them polite from the beginning till the end.

I can't say enough good things about the front desk personnel. Everyone was fantastic, very kind, helpful, and highly professional. The room was super clean, attractive, and very well laid out, and even had a full closet and a comfortable writing desk. I also appreciated that they provided my dog with a cute little blanket and a treat in the room. I also liked that the staircase is so easily accessible from the lobby and the first floor, the only floor with pet-friendly rooms. The breakfast coffee from the coffee machine in the bar area was very tasty, and the charcuterie bar service on the roof was a nice touch. Also, the view from the rooftop seating area was spectacular in every way, it has relaxing music playing, and the seating up there is very comfy--a must-see! Location is good, in proximity to all the best restaurants, and the staff knows them all.

I was expecting more comfort for this price: soundproof windows for the 1st floor, cozier bedding, and full temperature control in the room. Instead, only the front desk could turn on the heat/ac in my room, but no one told us this. There is a "working" remote control so we wasted a lot of time the first 2 days resetting the temperature when only cold air came out. Once we were frustrated enough to call the front desk to request a room change, we found out they could turn on the heat for us from the front desk. It would have made our nights more warmer if someone had told us this from the beginning. Brrr! Also, after the rave reviews I had read, I was expecting a more authentic Portuguese breakfast, instead it was basic Continental (cornflake type cereals, just okay breads, packaged orange juice, and strange mystery meats. This disappointed me in a country renowned for amazing attention to food, and because it was the main reason I chose this hotel. Thankfully, there are amazing local cafes right downstairs and across the street, so I was still able to easily get fresh-squeezed orange juice and incredible pastries for less than 5 euros--although the hotel coffee was pretty good! All in all, I would say do not choose a low floor if you want quiet, or just bring your headphones if you have to stay (on the first floor) because you have a pet, and don't hesitate to call the front desk for anything at all--the staff and the views from the deck are the real gems of this place, two things you cannot duplicate elsewhere.
