Chiseldon House Hotel

It felt like being at an Italian villa. The staff were personable and helpful.

Staff was very nice and did all they could for anything you asked, we had bed and breakfast, and could not fault it. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and a choice of drinks cold or hot, also nice and clean, the rooms were done every day.

A lift would be a very good idea, it was very hard for me to get up the stairs, also bathrooms need an update, blue water stains in the bath.

This elegant building had large rooms. A wall mounted flat screen TV, an ensuite bathroom, with a BIDET! I've not seen one of those in years... Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Food was fresh, tasty and plentiful, and I enjoyed my dinner...the buffet style breakfast offered so much choice. Well presented, and although a cooked breakfast is not my choice, it proved popular with the other guests. I enjoyed fresh croissants, coffee, yoghurt and fresh pineapple and watermelon. The rooms and especially the bed linens were spotlessly clean, and the bed comfortable. The view over the gardens was lovely.

Furniture and decorations very much reflected the 1980s...a little tired, a little dated, the plumbing could be quite noisy. A bit of a time capsule! The public areas were elegant and well cared for, the sash windows were from anther era.
