Unfriendly and cold hospitality

Location

We were greeted by a grumpy receptionist possibly that told us we were too early when we arrived. Despite very few people staying at the hotel she insisted we don't check in until 2pm. We'd travelled all night but there was no compromise on this unless we paid €30pp. Very unwelcoming and the bar area had a chain lock around the fridges for the duration of our stay. So unfriendly..breakfast was poor and tomatoes had hairs on them. The location is great but the hotel owners need to make big changes to their customer service. We stayed 4 nights and we felt that we were an inconvenience for the duration of our stay.

Nice place to stay on a motorcycle trip

We were traveling with motorcycle, so a private parking out of sight was a nice thing. Staff was very accommodating - I've accidentally booked a single large bed room, but it was changed to a double bed room without any hassle. Breakfast was good, and the people who serve it - extremely helpful.

Smaller rooms are a bit too small for 2 people with a bunch of motorcycle gear.

Wide choice of hot & cold food, fresh bread again wide choice, fresh fruit, generous amounts available. Warm welcome from staff. Staff helped us willingly when we discovered we hadn't brought our phone charger. Thank you. Car park at the back was useful when friends drove to drop us & collect us.

Maybe a safe in the room for our passports & cards / cash in another currency. One of our group has an eye sight problem so brighter lights in our room would have helped, but this problem is in the client not the hotel.

Uncomfortable, unsafe, unwelcoming

The location was great for our wedding party.

I would not recommend Hotel Rastelli Tervuren. After updating my credit card details, I accidentally made a duplicate booking. I realised within 20 minutes and contacted reception immediately. Instead of checking or trying to resolve it, the older woman at reception flatly refused to help, saying nothing could be done and that Booking.com would not refund me. The hotel was almost entirely booked by our wedding party, so there was no chance of someone else taking the room. I ended up paying over $600 for an unnecessary extra room. On top of that, the atmosphere was unfriendly and unwelcoming. Despite paying for two rooms, I was told off at breakfast simply for standing and talking with family. The rooms themselves were poor quality: stained bedding, lumpy pillows and duvet, unsafe plug sockets, and broken bathroom fixtures. The entire place felt dark, dated, and neglected. The younger staff member did at least try, but overall the service and standards here were unacceptable.

Not bad, but definitely not worth its rate.

Staff at the reception were kind and helpful. They were eager to help. The are around the hotel is really nice, with good restarants and caffes.

The hotel is actually old, it is in need of renovation of some parts of the installations. The room is good enough, but it feels old. The shower needed repairng. It was not easy to use because of this. The worst part was the service during breakfast. The staff needs more customer service training. They do not seem to have the right profile for the job (not too kind or oriented to service). Breakfast is exactly the same every day, it does not change at all, and sometimes it is not well prepared (boiled eggs undercooked and the like).

Comfortable and handy

The room ws excellent and the play was clean and well maintained. It has a car park at the back - pity we went in to ask about parking because we got a ticket while we waited. Very handy for the main park and for the African museum which was our purpose in going. The town has some nice restaurants.

Pity about the ticket - but that is not the hotel's fault.

In general the room was very clean and good.people were very friendly and helpful.

The room was nice. Beds comfortable.

Steps in front lobby were a little dangerous. The color of the tile blended and one could miss that there were actually steps. Initially staff was annoyed with me because I failed to prepay. I then explained an email I received regarding a scam and was told not to respond to further emails. Then the attitude improved. I was told the hack was due to booking.com.

Pleasant

The location is amazing! Close walk to the park, very central. Free parking available behind the building. Very comfortable beds.

The rooms were insanely warm, so warm it was hard to fall asleep. The shared terrace prevented me from sleeping with an open door, no other way to get fresh air and no airconditioning. Breakfast is nothing special, decent enough to fill your stomach at the start of the day.

The rooms need a thorough clean, and could do with brightening up, walls are red and brown.

Location was good

Rooms were not clean, black slime on shower tube, the light switches were sticky and dirty. The bedding had a strong smell of detergent, not a pleasant smell. My colleague found glass on the floor of his room. The rooms are large but dark with very dark with poor lighting, The breakfast is very basic, particularly for the price. The toaster was broken for two days and not replaced.
