Amazing location, great friendly staff, quirky old school charm, great value for money. Beds were comfortable.
You have to walk up a lot of stairs. I didn’t mind because my partner could carry my bags as I have a sore foot, but you need to be aware there’s no lift. Also some maintenance on tiles required in the bathroom.

This was my favorite hotel on this trip. With its half-timbered facade and the interiors as well (including the staircase) it is right out of the Middle Ages. The location couldn’t be better - it is right by the cathedral, and there is a great grocery store right across the street - yet it is quiet. Anais was very understanding and helpful to me, always so pleasant and with a smile on her face, and was also responsible for the delectable breakfast which was a dream. I would definitely stay here again on another visit to beautiful Bayonne.
No AC so might get hot in the event of super hot weather, but temp was ok for me with weather out in the 70s (around 20 Celsius).
